State troopers took Robert Christman into custody this morning. His capture came 26 hours after he worked away from a Work Release Program at a jail near pittsburgh. He is in the passengers seat of this police car that drives by in this video. Troopers caught him this morning after he led them on a chase and rammed a cruiser. Investigators say shortly after he escaped yesterday he murdered a woman he knew in her house about a mile from the jail. It was a 911 caller that alerted police when christman knocked on her door. The 911 caller recognized him from the news and refused to let him in. We would also like to thank the public for their participation in this apprehension by providing the police with the information that led directly to the apprehension of mr. Christman. Their help was invaluable. He was in jail for violating probation on a drug charge. There were no previous Violent Crimes on his record. A berks county man admits he drove into a barricade at the u. The girls mother says she noticed her daughter missing on tuesday morning. Police say a man climbed through an alleyway window at the familys north philadelphia home. The man forced the girl outside, then beat her. The mother found her little girl barely conscious in the backyard. The child remains in the hospital with severe injuries to her face. A jewelry heist across six states. Seven people now face charges of stealing more than 800,000 of jewelry in new jersey and all across the country, too. The investigation is called operation pandora. The group is charged with a total of eight thefts in new jersey. Two of those crimes happened in mercer county. In one case, some of the suspects allegedly stole 100,000 in loose diamonds. Dylann roof appeared in court for his arraignment this morning. His lawyer says roof wanted to enter a guilty plea but he was told the government has not decided how to proceed with the case yet, whether to seek the death penalty. So the judge then entered a not guilty plea on all counts. Roof is accused of opening fire inside an historically black church on june 17th. Nine people were killed. Through a week of looking for two florida teens missing at sea, the coast guard says it will suspend its search at sunset tonight. The two boys vanished last friday. The 14 year olds went fishing off the coast of jupiter, florida. Searchers found their capsized boat sunday but there has been no sign of the boys. The coast guard says crews are still scouring waters from florida to South Carolina today. That search will come to an end in a matter of hours. The coast guard says it doesnt mean giving up hope. By suspension what we mean is if new information comes to light, we have the ability to reopen the case. The boys families say they will continue with a private search when the coast guard stops. After nearly a year and a half without answers, families of those on board Malaysia Airlines flight 370 will have to wait another day. Reporter congressman fattah was the ranking democrat on a House Appropriations subcommittee, a position he resigned on wednesday. He had influence over nasas budget which gave money to the congressmans education charity. The indictment alleges chaka fattah ran money from a federal grant from nasa through a nonprofit he founded called educational advancement alliance. The indictment says the money was used to pay campaign debt. Fattah denies the allegation. His position as minority chairman of the appropriations subcommittee on commerce, science and justice put him in a position to influence how federal money was spent. Senior members of the Appropriations Committee do have a lot of discretion. Reporter Noah Bookbinder is a Government Watch dog for citizens with responsibility and ethics in washington. Agencies will feel pressure to cooperate with members who have some control over how much money they get. Dorney Officials Say they caught up with the family inside the park wednesday night. They told the group of workers inside that their tickets were being held inside by another group but police say once inside, the family ran off to avoid paying. That ticket price, about 300 for tickets. Bostick is charged with theft by deception. An illinois man is facing charges after allegedly trying to run over a group of teenagers with his car. It is all caught on camera. Take a look at this. Police say the man allegedly went after the teens when he learned his daughter was involved in a fight. You can see him swerving up on to the grass and driving toward the teens. This all started when the father went to the school with a cane and threatened the teens he thought were involved in the fight. Later, police say he got in his car and drove up on to the school grounds. He was coming at us and he was revving his engine to speed up when he was getting close to people and when he got close to me, i just jumped out of the way. The man did stay at the scene when cops arrived and saw the cell phone video, they arrested him on the spot. Nobody was hurt. It is the kind of 90 degree day i like. The Caribbean Sea is especially dry and much of the atlantic is kind of dry. These tropical waves out here are really pretty pitiful as far as any kind of chance for development. One of the reasons, this measures the amount of moisture and just a tremendous area of extra dry air all the way through a good bit of the tropics. This year marks a major milestone for the nations largest banner Plane Company which is based in cape may county. Nbc 10 jersey shore Bureau Reporter Ted Greenberg spent the day at the company. They had a special surprise for nbc 10. Ted is live in wildwood with that story. I love that. That should fly before every one of your live shots. Reporter yeah. Exactly. Well hire them to do that. About a half Dozen Companies fly banner planes over the jersey shore and one of them has been taking off for seven decades. From a grass airstrip in middle township, they pull ads into the sky aimed at thousands of eyes on the sand below. If youre sitting on the beach you expect to hear banner planes. Reporter its Steve Jordans second summer piloting banner planes for paramount air service. A job that takes him 400 feet above the jersey coastline from cape may all the way to sandy hook. There are days i can see new york and Atlantic City and philly all in one shot. Reporter this year marks the 70th anniversary for paramount, the nations oldest and largest Aerial Advertising company. Which has a dozen planes, eight pilots, three mechanics and about 100 clients. Like salt water taffy, were part of the jersey shore experience. Reporter barbara runs the business founded in 1945 by her late father, a world war ii glider pilot and his brotherinlaw. I grew up as a child every plane that went by was daddy. Reporter the planes are mostly from the 40s and 50s but the engines are replaced with rebuilt ones every 2,000 hours. Its not required but its nice to keep the airplane in the air. Reporter some have come down unexpectedly over the years. Accidents that weve covered. Most of the mishaps have been minor pilot error. Primarily fuel management. We have been very fortunate no one has ever been hurt. Loud, windy. But a lot of fun. Reporter steve jordan says its bare bones flying at its best. A marketing gig in midair that he hopes will bring him closer to his career goal. I want to be a commercial pilot flying for an airline. Theres no better way to get the hours than flying in a company like this. Reporter just in case you wonder, the cost to advertise on one of paramounts banner planes ranges from 200 to 4,000 per flight. It all depends on the area being covered and the distance. We are dealing with the heat but at least the humidity has broken. Thats right. Thats what really makes it feel so much more comfortable outside, the lower humidity. Im sure you noticed it today. We still got up to 90 degrees in philadelphia but a beautiful look at the skyline. You dont see a lot of clouds around t air mass is pretty dry. Thats why we are seeing such low humidity levels and it will stay like that as we go through tonight. We are nice and dry across the area, perfect for whatever youre doing for your friday evening. If you want to be outside or anything, it will feel a lot more comfortable as the sun sets especially. We are still at 90 degrees in philadelphia. Its still hot regardless of the humidity being lower and it will stay hot as we go through the weekend. Mid 80s through the Lehigh Valley, upper 80s for millville, dover, wildwood coming in at 88 degrees. For the rest of your friday afternoon and evening, temperatures will still be on the warm side but with that lower humidity, it will make it feel a lot more
