Reporter homicide detectives have been talking with witnesses and the girlfriend of the victim. Also the person who fired the shots. The big question is why was this incident happening in the first place. Why were these shots fired. Behind me you see the bullet markings on the ground by lancaster avenue. This happened after 11 30 last night between 35th and 36th streets here on drexels campus. A welllit area with several businesses nearby. Police say that there was an argument between the 24yearold victim and his 22yearold girlfriend. At some point, another man walked up, a person they did not know. He got involved. Eventually shooting the boyfriend in the chest three times. The victim died at penn presbyterian and doesnt go to school here. This is extreme, very rare. They definitely know each other. This appears to be an argument between a male and female. He intervened, end the argument, and for some reason pulled a gun. Reporter heres video of the shooter as he sat in a police car. Weve blurred his face because at the moment hes not been charged with a crime. Hes been questioned. The girlfriend of the victim, trying to get an idea of what happened. Police say the man who fired the gun has a permit to carry. The circumstances that led to the gun being pulled and fired are being sorted out. Now to an update. One of the teen victims of a bucks county hit and run has died. Right now police are hunting for the killer behind the wheel. Investigators say 19yearold jess kurtz died less than 24 hours after the crash. Her 18yearold boyfriend survived. Dray clark is live where the crash happened. What are we learning . Reporter the recent ben salem graduates were crossing the intersection here when they were hit on monday night. It seems the driver did the right thing initially when he stopped and helped remove the young lady from the middle of the street. He jumped his truck and sped away, leaving the young woman dyeing on the side of the road and her boyfriend holding her and grieving. This is a picture with the truck, what it may look like, believed to be an older model ford f250. A few other details about the truck it has a ladder rack, broken side mirror, and damaged headlight. Monday, 19yearold Jessica Kurtz and her boyfriend, 18yearold will vanas dale wer hit crossing the road. Kurtz died at the hospital from her injuries. Vanarsdale at last check is still recovering in the hospital. So upsetting. Were upset for them. Weve been praying for her all day that she would get through this. Reporter Lower Southampton Police say theyve tried to speak with vanarsdale. He is too distraught to talk right now. They are also checking surveillance cameras in the area to try and get another look at the truck and possibly license plate number. Police say yesterday morning the it 4yearold woman was the 24yearold woman was riding her bike and collided with the truck at 11th and spruce in center city. Officers werent saying if the victim was wearing a helmet. The cause is under investigation. Bikers who share the road with drivers say the bike lanes which were first added seven years ago need to be upgraded. They were the highest quality bike lines at that time. They are severely faded. And they need to be at the least repainted. They also need to be made safer and of a higher quality. Bicyclists would like to see flexible posts or raised blacktop added. Police say this is the third biker killed bicyclist killed in a crash this year. We now know that it was a 15yearold boy whose charred body was found on the roof of a septa train. Philadelphia police say the victim is raquan jones of philadelphia. Last friday his body was found on top of a train that pulled into jefferson station. Jones had severe burns from an apparent election election trugz apparent electrocution. A man seen in these photos pulled a gun in mt. Airy and demanded money from victims on three occasions. In one of the incidents, Authorities Say the suspect sexually assaulted a woman. In camden, residents and Business Owners say not in my back yard. The city is considering allowing a methadone clinic to move from its Current Location across from Camden City Hall to a neighborhood. The new clinic could treat up to 1,000 drug patients each day and would be built with a sixfoothigh fence around the property. People in the Bergen Square section of camden say that isnt enough. They fear the clinic will ruin their neighborhood. You have the methadone clinic. Youve got people sleeping on your business steps because they cant wait for the methadone clinic to open.
