It makes a quick left on jfk boulevard, a quick right on 16th, and heads to ben franklin parkway where it will end at the philadelphia of art museum steps. And as you mentioned, there are a lot of closures throughout the city of philadelphia. We are talking about all public and parochial schools. Didnt take long for School Officials to say you know what, considering probably a few people didnt show up on monday after the super bowl, it might be a good idea that once the parade is announced that we give folks the day off. Temple university closed, my alma mater, university of pennsylvania closed. Drexel campuses in University City and center city, theyll be close today. The airports and the staff there is closed. The dropoff locations on pennsylvania avenue at the Spring Garden tunnel. And the intersection of 20th and Spring Garden streets. Another important question is where are the restrooms . Were looking at where we are, and we dont any. Ive been trying to figure that out, where are we going to stop. Im a guy, s 850 porta potti parkway. We dont se where we are. By comparison, the city rented 3,000 porta potties for the popes visit. There wont be a lot around. They figure people may be in and out of the bars, restaurants. Bud light will be giving away free beer at bars a parade route. People may beet out of the co. Giving e free beer to each person. Im sure after each person gets their one beer, theyll know what honor system, im sure that will happen. The city ready to handle every emergency. Im sure theyve handled situation they can on such short notice. They have. They have a mobile command center. Were talking like 30 agencies. Youve got state police, local police. Were obviously expecting a less rowdy crowd considering its going to be during the daytime. Also the weathers going to be an issue for folks who may be thinking theyre going to stay inside. No. You are out in the elements. Check this out. This is one of the many pictures we have of the art museum. That camera is shaking. A gusty wind. You can feel the winds blowing, stronger in trenton. That is cold air. Its going to make it feel like in the teens through much of the morning. 8 00 this morning, heading to the parade route, teens for philadelphia, doylestown, wilmington, voorheis, the feelslike temperature. It will be warmer by 11 00, by the beginning of the parade. Still low 20s for philadelphia, wilmington, teens for doylestown and allentown. The wind will still be blowing. Wont be as strong this afternoon as what were feeling, but will feel like middle 20s at 1 00. By 3 00 when things wrap up, it will be the warmest. The breeze will settle down, and the temperatures will creep up. Well see a lot of sunshine. See the clouds moving through. These clouds will be gone. Itsng to becom very sunny. Jessica boyington with you and a check of the roads. A lot to talk about. One thing i wanted to give you a heads up on, this will happen later. Not there now. The vine street expreway westbound ramp to 22nd street will be closed later on. The schuylkill expressway east and westbound ramps to 30th, around 30th street station, will be closed there, as well, which is the reason why because theres going to be so many people around the vine street expressway, we cant have cars funneling through the area, as well. The 30th street station area is a nightmare as it is. Getting there with a vehicle would be alsodifficult. Ngerous,. Theyhutting that down to people driving later this morning or into when the beginnings of the parade starts. Heads up. If you are trying to get around and dont know what to do, say youre here and how am i going to get past the schuylkill expressway or how am i going to get further north, you have to go back down 95 and around south philadelphia that way. Thats pretty much your best bet. Remember, you cant go through center city because broad street will be closed all the way up and down. Theres no crossing back and forth. Watching the schuylkill expressway now, were still closed anyway. All lanes on the eastbound side approaching the vine street expressway. There is eastbound here, see the cones, theyre diverting off traffic off now on to the vine. That will be there for at least the next 45 minutes until 5 00. Whats the parade going to be like . A great question. I dont think anyone really knows. Preparing for broad street. What eagles stars expect to see from fans today. Witnessing history from high above to right on the parade do watch if you want to stay inside. 6 4 15 on your thursday. The eagles parade of champions, thats what were watching for. This is live along toward the Philadelphia Museum of art from our sky force 10 camera. People already starting to gather there, clamoring for the best spot, the best seat to witness philadelphia history. Maybe one of the most sports history. Hopefully not the last, though. So a lot of attractions in philadelphia area, museums, obvie schools earlier, are closed for the day because so many people expecting potentially as many as two million people, will be out in full force lining broad street. Yeah, youd think there would be a lot of business. Actually there wont be. These people understand theyre here to celebrate. Among the businesses closed, the Barnes Foundation is going to be closed, the Franklin Institute will not be open, the Kimmel Center is closed. The museum of the American Revolution will not be open. Also the philadelphia zoo. They will be closed. And eagles fans have been flying in from all over the country for the parade, theyre coming in on flights from out west, midwest, people as they come in, wearing their eagles gear. The fans cgeorgia, from los angeles. John clark heard from somebody coming from isra w miss the par. One man came in early from a business trip. People are canceling business trips just to get here. For eagles fans around the world. There are legions of them. A group of fans from south jersey who actually will ride the parade of champions in style today. This started as a small operation to try to get a Community Together from south jersey, to get them into philadelphia, get them out. As weve been reporting, its going to be tricky considering that a lot of roads are closed right around broad street. And certainly around the ben franklin parkway. It involved hundreds of people and a total of five tour buses. Theyre headed by Real Estate Agent heather gray. She organized the trip together for the five tour buses. It kept her busy day and night. It went viral i think. People i dont know are calling me at 11 30 last night, dropping money off at my house, started at 5 30 this morning. Im excited. I cant wait to get there. And then im going to be bored next week. Meantime, i really cant wait. Fly eagles fly a great group of people. They figured, you know what, lets do it together, get down and have a good time. Something tells me the group coming from south jersey not going to be not going to be quiet on their road into philadia no. Theyll be chanting, singing, sharing, as will a lot of people ho will be here. Interesting tshirts, a lot of interesting signs posted. Theres one Montgomery County sign shop thats just been totally inundated with requests for all kind of road to victory eagles championship signs. The sign business is going to be hot and heavy throughout the day. The company here is edge graphics, theyre this collegeville. They started making eagles signs and banners. Now theyre making get this lombardi trophy cutouts. Even our guys are all eagles fans. They stayed late, got creative. They tried to think outside of the box. Yeah, that is owner c. J. Santangelo who says this for him is a labor of love. Pretty cool. Safe to say the lombardi curse broken or what . O broken. I think you look at the team and what theyre posed to do, they won the championship without their starting quarterback, without the starting left tackle, without a key running ba back, without the starting middle linebacker. Ese guys are poised to probably go back to the super bowl multiple times in the next decade. And theyre young. They are young. The question is nick foles future. Well get to that after the parade his future is bright. As far as i can see, his future is extremely bright. Yes. We know millions expected to watch the parade. Yeah. This is this is no better place to watch it than right here along the parade route. Maybe you want to be a little warmer and get inside. One liberty Observation Deck the best place to see it. Temperatures now, 20s for the lehigh valley, suburbs, delaware, south jersey in the 30s. There are some colder neighborhoods around, down to 28 degrees now in west mt. Airy. 31 at society hill, 28 in summerton. Pretty much in the same territory because of the blowing. Thats a steady windhis morning. Its going to be with us on into this afternoon. Ratures climb through the 20s and into the very low 30s. Not a huge warmup. A cold day by about ten degrees compared to where we areally. The winds making it feel like 20s rightncue. The temperatures will be coming up as clouds clear out for lots of sunshine. Thats one really nice thing, well be clearing, we wont see any wet weather. Blue sky overhead will give us a great view of the sea of green on the ground. Showers to the west, yeah, a few in the midwest. Those will miss us. Over the weekend, rain developing in the south. Thats going to come our way with warmer temperatures. Only expecting rain for the weekend. Today, just cold. The clouds clear, well see sunshine and 20s, warming to the low 30s for philadelphia. The wind will be blowing in the suburbs. Low 30s this afternoon with nothing but sunshine. Youll see a decent warmup in the lehigh valley. Still cold this afternoon. 29 at 2 00. For delaware and new jersey, the wind will blow the clouds right out of the picture. Plenty of sunshine at the shore, too. Low to mid 30s for each part of the area for today. The weekend, a different story, the clouds will be rolling back in. And its going to be a rainy day saturday. The ten day on 10 coming up in the next half hour. Good morning, everyone. Jessica boyington with you with a check on the roads. Were talg about today is a lot of the eagles championship parade here. Remember, theyre starting at lincoln financial field. At 10 45 they will head to patterson avenue over here, and then theyll head up broad. Once they head up broad, remember all of those roads on the way up past broad street, all the cross streets, will be closed there, too. Youre not getting across broad in either direction, and youre not really going to get close to it either. That will be pretty much the option for you there. Heading toward city hall, theyll make a left at south penn square and will move up the ben franklin parkway to the art museum where the rally will begin there around 1 00 p. M. Watching all of that, all the people that are going to be surrounding the area, obviously most of the people i would assume are going to be in the surrounding area here. Well be watching that for you. Right now were watching the schuylkill expressway because were closed. Thats on the eastbound side. You see the emergency vehicles here. Youre not going to get by. Youll be diverted off through the vine street expressway for at least over another half hour. Of course well have updates for you on this. Of course the eagles parade all morning long. Hitting theding to the parade. Jessica boyington is warm and traffic center. I was going to say, im toasty in here. Watching the schuylkill expressway, not getting by eastbound. This is not a parade closure. This is normal construction. We have to battle with this until 5 00, then the parade closures will come intoplay. Ill be here all morning updating you on that and have an update coming up
