If you know anything at all about Italian history (especially during the reign of power of the Grand Dukes of Tuscany), the name Lorenzo dé Medici is one of the most important names in the worlds of politics, arts, and literature.
Some 500 years later, one of the female members of the family, Lorenza dé Medici di Ottajano, became a world famous cook, renowned especially for her fresh and fascinating take on classic Italian cuisine. Her son, Roberto Stucchi Prinetti, didn’t use the Medici name, which is kind of like Anderson Cooper deciding the name Vanderbilt didn’t belong in his CV. Instead, he forged his own way into the culinary world by creating great wine.
