Authorities say last wednesday radee prince shot five coworkers at a Granite Company in Hartford County maryland. Three of them were killed. Five separate shootings in less than 72 hours are now under investigation. Chesters top police brass walked through the bennett Public Housing Development Today in the wake of a quadruple shooting here saturday night, one of five separate shooting cases in the city of 40,000 over the weekend. Police believe they are all related. We understand there was a fight of some nature between several individuals and somebody got hurt and this is a retaliation. Reporter a total of eight people were wounded in the incidents that were spread out all over town where as many as eight separate neighborhood gangs are known to operate within a file mile radius. Clashing at times in a virtual round robin fashion. No one died in this weekend from their wounds. Most of the victims. Were shot in the lower part of their body. All this Police Believe stems from a series of brawls at chester high homecoming after parties last weekend. There were some after parties in which and they were in different locations throughout the county so some of these after parties there were a few fights and we believe there was some bad blood left over from that and most of these shooting incidents we believe stemmed from that. The worker handed over cash and the suspect was last seen getting into the passenger side of a dark green fourdoor vehicle. Youre asked to Contact Police if you recognize this woman. Philadelphia police are trying to piece together what led up to a shooting in strawberry mansion. Multiple bullets struck a man as he left a chinese takeout restaurant near 29th and dauphin about midnight. When police first arrived the victim got in the car and drove off. They stopped him a block or two away. The victim is in stable condition at Temple University hospital. No one has been arrested. A fire caused concern. Residents were evacuated at 3 30 this morning. I think you have to say they actively pursued this technology with the blessing of the mayor, this technology produced by a company in maryland. As to why, i think you have to put it down to the evolving threat the patrol officers face. At first glance, this new police unit doesnt appear all that different but look close and you will see the glass and door panels are different. A ballistic shield is affixed to the front door panels in what is dubbed transparent armor backs up a large portion of the equipment glass in the front windows. The maker says it makes it resistant to pistol and shotgun ammunition. Its cutting edge in the sense that it provides protection for Police Officers seated in the vehicle from gunfire. Reporter the protection does not extend to the windshield but it does cover the front sides of the vehicle. Last year two Philadelphia Police officers, Jessie Hartnett and sergeant sylvia young survived being shot while sitting in their patrol cars. We believe that ballistic protection like this would have probably protected them from any of those gunshots that were aimed at them. The protection package adds about 1,300 to the cost of a car. A threeyearold boy is until grave condition today after being shot by his sixyearold brother over the weekend. This afternoon philadelphia Police Released this mug shot of the toddlers father sir haven williams. Williams has been changed with endangering the welfare of a child and reckless endangerment. Officials say his sixyearold son found a gun belonging to his uncle and accidentally shot his brother in the forehead. Now, that happened inside the familys north philadelphia home on saturday. The children were being watched by their 12yearold brother at the time. The man convicted of hitting a Police Officer while driving drunk last summer has now been sentenced. Colin murphy will spend between 11 and a half and 23 months behind bars. Some of that might be served as house arrest. Hell also face five years probation. Murphy was under the influence when he drove into an officer who was that conducting a traffic stop in august of last year on main street in manayunk. Murphy then fled the scene. The officer was hurt but did recover. Several hundred people spent part of the morning without power after a box truck ran into a utility pole in delaware county. It happened in the 900 block of west chester pike in haverford township at 4 00 this morning. That impact brought down wires which sparked a small fire as you can see leaving 500 people in the dark. On the field here is lucas custer an eightyearold peewee football standout and die hard eagles fan from wilmington, delaware. This is his story. An unbelievably emotional and inspirational one that also includes his icon eagles quarterback carson wentz. Its sort of about football but its even more so about hope and what it truly means to be a hero. He he had no fear whatsoev. And thats how lucas earned the nickname the dutch destroyer. What was his dream. To be an eagle for the nfl. But two years ago, the healthy strong junior athlete was diagnosed with stomach cancer. Within days of carson wentz being drafted by the philadelphia eagles. The idea of the hope of carson what it meant for the eagles was just another piece of inspiration for lucas and his continued drive to get back on the field himself. A hospital worker reached out to the eagles and wentz sent him this video message to boost his spirit. Just want you to know that were all thinking about you, wish you the best. Later the Makeawish Foundation granted this one for lucas. I really tried to just do it as this is an opportunity for lucas just to take out all the other stuff in his life, the sick, the pain, the exhaustion. Lucas gave his hero one of his gray and green rubber dutch destroyer bracelets. He took it out and he handed it to carson and that was sort of his way of saying thank you. And one final request from his biggest fan. Want to make sure i rubbed his head and said it was for good luck. Less than two weeks later, four days after his tenth birthday, lucas kuster passed away, a die hard eagles fan for eternity. To think that hes buried wearing my jersey, that just so much deeper than football.
