It is in effect in the poconos and up in allentown and reading but we really dont think that the impact from the snow is going to be in the most cases until late this afternoon, early this evening. Highest snow totals will be mainly tonight overnight into wednesday morning and were not talking a super high snow total at that. We are looking at storm tracker6 live double scan with an indication of a little bit of the atmosphere moistening up, just some light snow showers out by harrisburg, pottsville, these are moving very slowly as they try and encounter allentown and reading and then eventually philadelphia later tonight. So, not a lot going on out there just yet but we are expecting the arrival of some of that later today and tonight. Temperatures ahead of this snow, though, are going to get mild. Well get all the way up to about 42 degrees by around 2 30 or 3 oclock. You can see how there might even be a peek of sunshine at some point this afternoon and then were down into the upper 30s as late as 7 oclock. In philadelphia it will be later in the overnight hours as those temperatures drop and that snow comes in. Future tracker6 does show you the snow arriving, though. As we get up into 8 oclock tonight, it is on this model still pushing close to allentown and reading, maybe coming down a little bit faster than that and then overnight encountering most of the rest of the region and that would be in time for the morning commute. We had an accident here in springfield township just cleared preston road moving a lot better. Weve been talking a lot about the ice jam and resulting flooding and slippery conditions weve had in mercer and bucks county. Still have river road closed between black rock road and calhoun street bridge. We have 29 southbound offramp to calhoun street closed. Theyve opened some areas of 29 but not the offramp right there. Live outside on the ben franklin bridge no problems just yet. Its early. Were looking pretty good here on the ben. No speed restrictions. Tomorrow mornings commute might be a different story. For this morning, here, on the ben, youre looking just fine and we do have some construction crews out here. Developing this morning a Security Guard shot and wounded a robbery suspect in the citys kensington section. It happened at the Dollar General store along the 3100 block of frankford avenue at 10 00 last night. Investigators say employees confronted a 31yearold man for stealing items. They say he pulled out a knife and then took off with the drawer from the cash register. A Security Guard confronted him outside and that is when police say the man lunged at the guard with the knife. The Security Guard fired a shot hitting the man in the leg. Arriving officers had to use their tasers and pepper spray to finally subdue the man. It appeared that he was under the influence of some sort of narcotics which caused him to behave this way. The robbery suspect is in the hospital in stable condition. Happening today, jury selection begins for allentown mayor ed pawlowskis federal corruption trial. Prosecutors say he ran a pay to play exam and scam and tried to get Campaign Contributions in exchange for city contracts. He faces 54 counts including fraud and lying to the fbi. The mayor has denied any wrongdoing and was reelected despite the looming trial. The author of the controversial new book fire and fury will be here in philadelphia. Michael wolff will be speaking at the free library on the parkway at 7 30 tonight. In the book, former white house chief strategist steve bannon accuses president trumps eldest son, soninlaw and another former Campaign Chairman of treasonous behavior. The House Intelligence Committee is expected to question bannon today about the information in this book. A broken water pipe is flooding streets in the roxborough section of philadelphia and much of the water is freezing over. Well, lets get you to storm tracker6 live double scan and you can see while most of the region is dry as we take a look to the north and west, theres already a little light snow shower and you might see a couple of flakes this morning moving in toward reading and allentown but the more impactful snow wont be until very late today or maybe even until this evening. As we take a look outside, we have sky6, cloud cover over the Commodore Barry bridge and we are looking at cloudy and Cool Conditions this morning. Not quite as cold as its been the last couple of mornings, though. Still 30 degrees in philadelphia. 26 in trenton, 27 in allentown, 28 in reading, 29 in wilmington and 29 in millville, new jersey. Future tracker6 shows you how its going to be a mostly cloudy day, maybe some sunny breaks. And really as we move all the way up until about 4, 5, 6 oclock in the afternoon it could be that the snow that you see developing to the north and west is still having trouble really making a run at allentown and reading. Now, it could be here by then but its going to be close and you might actually make it all the way past the rush hour before you have to worry about this. Eventually in the overnight hours, though, this is going to cruise all the way down to philadelphia and beyond. By 7 oclock in the morning, we will be seeing some snow for the morning commute. Maybe some rain over by south jersey. And then these snow showers and light snow activity get on out to the north and east of us pretty quickly after lunchtime. So, again, the timetable of this this morning just a few flakes north and west. Youre already seeing some of that out in harrisburg. This afternoon there could be some snow developing slowly out in those far north and Western Areas but it will still be dry through 95. Later tonight into wednesday morning thats when the snow does finally push down through the region and goes right past the city into parts of the area of south jersey as well. And the impact scale, by 11 oclock tonight in those Northern Areas you could start to see some slick road conditions. I really think its overnight in through about the morning rush hour where its going to be worse down in the i95 corridor. By 11 oclock were probably back to pretty good conditions and as you can see its just a coating to an inch down south. A lot of that may even melt and not really be much of an issue on the ground. From philadelphia all the way up to doylestown, lansdowne and down to williamstown, new jersey, about one to 2 inches, wilmington is caught in this as is trenton and then as you step up into those northern and western suburbs we have a shot at two to 4 inches by the time this is all done. Remember, it starts earlier up there, too. Up in the Lehigh Valley today, 34 degrees with late snow. Either late this afternoon or early this evening. At the shore youre going to have to wait until night or overnight to get some rain and snow mixing in. In philadelphia mostly cloudy staying dry during the day with a high of 42 and then that snow coming in later tonight. New dashcam video shows a connecticut state trooper using his vehicle to stop a wrong way driver. It happened along i95 in stamford early yesterday morning. Police in california discovered 13 siblings held captive in filthy conditions so under fed that even the adults looked like children. A 17yearold girl managed to get free with a cell phone calling police to this perris, california home. Officials found the 13 chained up and padlocked to their bed.
