Even though there was a cold wind and as we take a look at temperatures this morning, yeah, were cold. 27 degrees in philadelphia, 25 in trenton, 23 degrees in allentown, 26 in wilmington and 23 in millville. But overall the winds are not as strong today and so our wind chills not as bad. Its being like 22 degrees in philadelphia, 23 i allentown, obviously you will want to bundle up. As we go through the day the temperatures are a little bit milder. 30 degrees by 8 oclock. 33 by 10 oclock. I think were going to stop at around 40 for a high. This model has 41 and you can see how the sunshine does start to come back the later we go into the day. Winds today will probably not quite match the 10 to 20 from yesterday so wind chills were expecting to only make it feel like its at about the mid 30s. We have an issue up north in the poconos and this goes for wednesday morning into wednesday evening where there is a winter storm watch. Accumulating snow expected here. That same system is going to put a wintry mix down here in areas close to philadelphia and our immediate suburbs before a change to rain. Again, this is tomorrow wednesday. You can see the construction thats blocking a lane. That guy taking his time to merge right there and ahead at 30th street its shut down but should be reopened by 5 oclock. Eastbound construction blocks the left lane as well. So, watch for that. Lets take a look here at the big picture and were seeing about 16 miles an hour on the schuylkill expressway. So seeing that jam right now and thats because of the construction you have on the schuylkill expressway right now that will be until 5 oclock this morning. Westbound all traffic being forced off at 30th street. This is bucks county, i95 near the welcome center, no extra overnight construction. Traffic is opened and probably not seeing as much ice even though those temperatures below freezing so well be watching for a slick spot or two but no main problems right now matt and tam. With the city of philadelphia still recovering from a heart stopping and historic game sunday night, plans are now under way for the massive championship parade that will take place on thursday. You can already see the beginnings of an allout production. Giant speaker boxes and a stage were being set up at the art Museum Monday afternoon but preparations began over the weekend well before the eagles got their hands on that coveted lombardi trophy o the city put down miles of barricades and port a potties. They were making way for up to 2 million people. Our school is closed that day so were going have nothing else to do and the birds won so whew, were going celebrate, yeah. Im going to be here super psyched for philly. This is fantastic. Im just really excited about the eagles. Phones have been ringing nonstop with anxious eagles fans looking for a place to stay. The smith family from new jersey had booked a room for tuesday when they tried to change their Hotel Reservations to wednesday and thursday nights when they got news when the parade would be they were out of luck. All hotels along the parade route are fully booked through friday. Select hotels are offering some private event spaces for parade day. They can still come here and watch the parade. We do have urban farmer and urban farmer patio which is right on the parkway so you can watch it from there. Some restaurants and bars still have that availability as well. A former eagle who is still a bird at heart has become an honorary member of the championship team. It happened on the inner lanes of the boulevard near large street at 11 00 last night. The woman in her 20s was rushed to the hospital where she later died. Police did not find any identification on the victim. We know that she was struck with such impact that she came out of both of her sneakers. Police say the 22yearold driver stopped nearby and had been driving without a license. Camden county police need some help identifying two burglary suspects. Overnight clouds have gotten thicker. You can see some breaks out to the west, however and we do expect to transition from clouds to increasing sunshine as we go later into the day. And the temperatures are going to be a little bit milder overall, too. By 10 oclock, still 33. By noon, 37. But a high of 40 around 3 oclock and with lighter winds, it will feel a lot more comfortable today. And that sun starting to come out a bit more as the day goes on. High temperatures across the region, well, probably only 39 in trenton. Thats really not much different than philadelphia. In allentown, youre probably still in the mid 30s today like you were yesterday but with less wind. 36 degrees in reading, 40 in philadelphia, 41 in millville and 43 in or in wilmington i should say, 43 in millville and 42 along the boardwalks and promenades along our coast. Tomorrow morning, we do have an accuweather alert in effect. By 5 30 well be looking out to the west of us for the possible arrival of snow and farther south maybe a mix of rain and sleet and even some freezing rain. Then we get up to about 7 oclock, this briefly overtakes the i95 corridor and the rest of the morning it starts to push toward the north but all the way to 9 oclock the northern suburbs will be looking at some snow probably some accumulation up here and in philadelphia there could be some icy slippery roads as well. Then warm air pops in and by noon, you see how all of this is moving much closer to allentown, really starting to break up and the rest of the day looks like rain across the region all the way up until 5 oclock. This is why, by the way, we are not having an eagles parade on wednesday. Were holding off until thursday. It looks like all of thats out by about 9 oclock at night, though, then paves the way for a dry thursday. Snowfall amounts. Not a whole lot in philadelphia and south, probably a coating to an inch, maybe a little slippery for awhile early in the commute but then we get that changeover to rain. One to 3inches is possible and a thin band between the immediate suburbs outside of philadelphia up to southern Lehigh County and from areas close to allentown up to the poconos its three to 6 inches of snow and this is mainly going to be snow. Well see that changeover from rain pushing up to the north up in the poconos you may never see the rain. Heres a reiteration of that. Down south mainly rain. Snow with a little bit of mixing then changing to rain and a lot of melting in through here and then mainly snow up in the poconos. For thursday were looking sunny but cold for the eagles parade. New from the overnight police in massachusetts are investigating a possible break in at the home of patriots tight end rob grankowski. Multiple reports say officers arrived at the home in foxboro at 6 00 yesterday evening and stayed on the scene for much of the night. Grankowski lives just a few miles from gillette stadiums. The patriots returned home late yesterday afternoon after sundays super bowl loss to the eagles in minneapolis. A colorado sheriffs deputy was shot and killed yesterday. He is the third officer to be gunned down in the line of duty in that state in the past five weeks. Deputy micah flick was killed when he and other officers were investigating a stolen vehicle in Colorado Springs yesterday. Investigators say the officers were struggling with a male suspect when shots were fired. Authorities say the lone suspect was also killed. Two other deputies, a Colorado Springs Police Officer and a bystander were shot and wounded. People lined the streets as a procession took the 34yearold deputys body from the hospital to the Coroners Office last night. Trooper robert meyer was sleeping in his piscataway home on saturday. Neighbor came banging on the door looking for help. I asked if anybody had any kind of suction that i would be able to use to clear air way, luckily the dad did have one. The trooper used a bulb syringe to clear the babys nose and mouth. The baby was taken to the hospital and is now is doing fine. A flu outbreak prompts a north Jersey School district to cancel classes but it is not the students or the teachers who are actually sick.
