The Manassas Muslim Association said someone vandalized the air conditioning unit. Mosque officials dealt with a similar problem earlier this week. Monday worshipers heard a strange noise around 5 00 a. M. During their morning prayer. When they noticed the mosque beginning to warm up they noticed someone had cut through the pipes. The largest Muslim Advocacy Group is asking authorities to investigate monday and last nights incidents as a bias crime. Also developing at 5 04, the fbi wants to know more about the 24yearold man who went on a shooting rampage at two tennessee military facilities. This as we wait to learn the names of the four marines who were killed. The suspected shooter is mohammed abdulazeez. The fbi says abdulazeez he fired all the shots from inside his car and then got out of his car and killed four marines. A Police Officer and another person were also hurt in the shooting. We are checking every possible place that he could reside or could have resided, visited where he shopped, where he went to school. Who his friends were as he worked out at a gym. Every possible lead. The gunman died in the shootout with police at that second facility. Federal prosecutors say the attack is being investigated as an act of domestic terrorism. More on the suspected shooter mohammed abdulazeez. Several years ago, abdulazeezs father was vessed for investigated for a potential connection to a terrorist organization being now was found. Disturbing new details about the man accused of beating a maryland child to death over a piece of birthday cake. He has been charged with abuse before. Congress might end up passing a short term extension. That could keep construction going through the summer. We had a second crime scene down on Central Avenue a little while ago. There was some evidence markers down there and investigators were looking around. They have since wrapped that part of this up. And they have reopened the road. Now, if you take a walk down here though, this is just off of cindy lane. The apartment complex here. The central Garden Apartments. We still have a very active investigation, active scene here. You can see the evidence markers. Theyre on the pavement. They have police tape up a couple of cars they have been looking at. They continue to try to piece together exactly what happened. Now, i spoke to a resident who said she heard about five gunshots between 12 30 and 1 00 in the morning. She was leaving her house and thats when she heard the gunfire. Didnt necessarily think anything of it immediately but then once she saw all the Police Activity once she returned home she realized what happened. Two Security Guards were shot in this. One of those Security Guards has died. Neighbors say that those guards are armed, but there is a regular security presence here. Theyre armed but its unclear if there was an Actual Exchange of gun fire between the security personnel and the suspects involved here. At this point, no word of any arrests. That revelation has military installations all around our area stepping up security. You might notice more federal Police Officers on your way to work on metro. As you said the fbi is looking at this as an act of domestic terrorism. Our saursources are saying they believe this is sponsored or promoted from overseas through social media and the internet. Now, because of that, security is being stepped up at some federal buildings and military facilities across the country. Just last week, the fbi director told congress theres a group of pro isis tweeting out of syria calling for attacks on anyone in uniform. The security will remain in place through the weekend at least. Now, federal authorities are especially worried about today. Thats because today is the last day of ramadan and those folks who are tweeting pro isis tweeters are saying that they need to get the attacks in before the end of this holy month. New details in this morning about that Huge Oil Spill out in california. This is off the coast of santa barbara. Just in that beach is expected to open today. This after in may a corroded on shore pipeline ruptured, spilling 101,000 gallons of crude oil. Cleanup costs up to 92 million. Concerning also for wildlife, hundreds of birds and Marine Mammals were found dead in this spill area. And the operator of that pipeline that broke could face criminal charges. Back to you. We the jury find the defendant, james eeghen holmes, guilty of murder in the first degree after deliberations. The trial of the colorado Movie Theater shooter now enters a new phase. Whether james holmes should be sentenced to death for his crime. The jury found him guilty of killing 12 people and wounding dozens of others in that 2012 attack. Jurors rejected the idea that holmes was legally insane when he opened fire in the Movie Theater. The jury deliberated for a day and a half before returning guilty verdicts on 165 counts. Among those in the courtroom yesterday were survivors of the attack. I looked at him when the verdict came out because i wanted to know, what is his response, and theres just nothing. Which i mean, thats how i feel towards him is nothing. Hes hes nothing in my life and i dont want to give him any energy. Experts say the sentencing phase could prove even more emotional as survivors describe the impact of the shooting on their daily lives. If one juror disagrees with the death sentence, holmes will be sent to prison for life. And investigators are investigating the death of an inmate as a possible homicide. Terrence serata was found dead. They didnt find any signs of trauma. Right now police are trying to figure out how a woman lost control of her car before hitting and killing a mother of eight. Its 5 47. Montgomery county judge has let a man accused of first degree murder out of jail. Dion sobotker is charged with Jonathan Harris murder. He was strangled during a robbery last december. Judge gary baird decided to release sobotker on a 500,000 unsecured bond and this means he didnt have to pay to get out. The judge said he doesnt believe the bail system is fair and prosecutors are frustrated with the judges decision. Because of Public Safety concerns that we have for anyone chargeled with the crimes its something we want to look at. Harris survived a kidney transplant in 2010 and it was profiled on the today show. In the lyons sisters case, more than one person may be responsible. The sheriff said that Richard Welch the uncle of the man charged in the murders may have sexually assaulted katherine and sheila lyon. Police are calling the uncle a person of interest. He lives in hyattsville, maryland. A grand jury has indicted Lloyd Lee Welch for the murder of the two children. Hes currently in jail in delaware on an unrelated sex offense. And at that time, right after that, the worshippers here asked for police to check this out to see if this is more than just some random act of violence. If theres possible bias involved here. Especially since this is the oneyear anniversary of this mosque opening at this location and of cou the muslim holy period of ramadan. Let me just say, this location on euclid avenue is in an industrial park. Were not on the main beat. The major road is liberia avenue. So worshipers here are wondering whats going on. News4 iteam investigation reveals dozens of Army Families filed formal complaints about the Government Agency that helped handle their child care. Its called the Army Fee Assistance program. Its for army moms and dads who cant find day care available on the post. It helps them use private and pricier daycare centers. They found the government subsidies are often sent late. Parents are falling into debt and they have trouble getting their phone calls returned. They failed their families and everybody i talked to. Unfortunately in this one instance its not working. The iteam found a backlog of 11,000 unreturned phone calls emails and requests from Army Families to the government. Administrators say theyre adding staff and working to fix the problem. Google is going back to the drawing board with the selfdriving car. Three google employees suffered whiplash after the selfdriving car was involved in an accident. Now, this is first accident for that car in which people were actually hurt. The car was rear ended in california earlier this month. No one seriously hurt. Google said this was the 14th accident in six years and about 1. 9 million miles of testing. Well, hula or netflix . The project is one of two different trial vaccines being tested in england france and senegal. The mid state trials are to primarily testing the safety. It carries safe viruses with part of the ebola virus thats supposed to stimulate the bodys immune system. None of it contains liven ebola virus. A Big Court Win for an alexandria man filing over the no fly list. He was stopped from boarding a flight back in 2011 and government lawyers tried to get it thrown out yesterday. They said it would be impossible to try the case without exposing state secrets about the process of putting people on the no fly list. The judge ruled that the lawsuit can move forward. Immigrant Community Groups are mobilizing to push for an end to Frederick Countys english only rule. In a few days the Frederick County council is holding a hearing on this. English became the official language back in 2012. Two Council Members introduced the bill to change that. Tuesdays hearing in Frederick County, maryland, is open to the public. I talked to a resident who said that right around a little before 1 00 this morning, they heard or that woman heard about four or five gunshots. We are on cindy lane and you can see that we still have crime tape up. Cindy lane is closed but investigators at this point are focusing their attention down here, in the parking lot area of the central Garden Apartments. We have evidence markers on the ground. Tape is up. They have been focusing on a couple of cars that are parked here in the lot. And were told that two Security Guards overnight were shot here. One of those guards has died. And in talking with folks who live here they say theres a regular security presence here at this complex. The security is pretty much, you know, they walk around here and protect the neighborhood.
