KDOT says bridge damaged in crash Share Updated: 7:31 PM CST Jan 30, 2021 KMBC 9 News Staff A crash involving a tractor-trailer has closed westbound Interstate 70 at the Lewis & Clark Viaduct in Kansas City, Kansas, authorities said.The Kansas Department of Transportation said traffic is being routed to Minnesota Avenue or Fairfax Trafficway.Authorities said the bridge was damaged when the big rig rolled over. Lanes may be closed through the weekend or until repairs can be made.

Several Kansas Department of Transportation projects are ongoing in Wyandotte County.
The projects include:
The reconfiguration of the Turner Diagonal interchange in Wyandotte County. The new diverging diamond interchange has been built, with clean up and seeding ongoing.
Truck staging areas on I-70 are open, although a new public restroom at a staging area was closed last week for plumbing work, and is expected to be closed until sometime in the first week of January.
The northbound College Parkway-Turner Diagonal Freeway is open.
For the Lewis and Clark Viaduct bridge project, westbound I-70 will be closed past Broadway Boulevard in Missouri to 3rd Street in Kansas City, Kansas.
