WHITE HALL â Mon Health System broke ground Friday on a plot of land at Middletown Commons for what will be Marion Countyâs newest community hospital in a year.
Initially set to be constructed in Pleasant Valley, the small format hospital will include 10 beds in addition to other services, moved to the new site shortly after company CEO and President David Goldberg toured the walkable shopping center that is set to become a draw for Marion County. The original certificate of need issued by the state in May approved Mon Healthâs request to construct a $25 million hospital on Landing Lane in Pleasant Valley. No information was provided on the cost of the remodel or buildout of the new space at Middletown Commons.
WHITE HALL, W.Va. (WV News) â Mon Health officially broke ground on its new small-format hospital in the Middletown Commons Friday afternoon, with construction set to be complete by the end of 2021.
The Mon Health Marion Neighborhood Hospital will have 10 inpatient beds and also will provide the community with a 24-hour emergency care unit, a full-service lab, behavioral health services and more.
Mon Health President and CEO David Goldberg said heâs excited to get the hospital up and running.
âItâs a long time coming,â he said. âWe promised that we would bring health care and a hospital, and here we are. ⦠Itâs important to bring health care and a hospital closer to home. The small-format hospital model makes sense. Itâs very economical. Itâs quick to build.â
