Cocaine found in house and car
A man is due to appear before the courts this morning after thousands of euro worth of illegal drugs were seized.
As part of an ongoing investigation targeting the sale and supply of drugs in Cork city, gardaí attached to the Divisional Drugs Unit in Anglesea Street Garda Station executed a search warrant at a house in the Bridgemount area of Carrigaline at around 2.45pm on Saturday.
A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána said: “During the course of the search gardaí seized approximately €34,000 of suspected cocaine from the house and a car parked outside. Gardaí also seized a weighing scales and a number of zip-lock bags.
Man charged with manslaughter arising from alleged assault on Patrick Street

A manslaughter charge was brought against a 48-year-old man arising out of an alleged assault at a soup kitchen in Cork.
Detective Garda Neil Walsh arrested the man and brought him before Cork District Court.
This followed an investigation that commenced in September 2019 into an alleged assault on a man while he was attending a soup kitchen in Cork city centre.
