Guwahati: Assam Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday announced the dates for High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Higher Secondary (HS) exams for the academic year 2020-21. He said that the class X exams will begin on May 11th, 2021 and the class XII exams will start from May 12th, 2021.
The results for both the exams will be declared within 7th July and 30th July respectively, the Minister tweeted.

HSLC exam from May 11, HS from May 12Guwahati : The Board of Secondary Education, Assam has announced the date of HSLC examination from May 11. The delay is attributed to COVID19 endemic and assembly polls. The results, however, will be announced on July 7.
On the other hand, the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council is also preparing to hold the HS examination in arts, science and commerce streams from May 12 and the results would be announced on July 30.
These board examinations normally are conducted in February and March.

Assam govt to give free scooties to meritorious girl students

Guwahati, Jan 2 : The Assam government will distribute around 22,250 scooties (two-wheelers) to girl students free-of-cost to promote girls’ education in the state, Assam Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Saturday.
The minister after distributing the scooties at a function at Mushalpur in Baksa district, said that free scooties would be given to meritorious girl students who had passed higher secondary (HS) final exams in the first division under the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council in 2020.
He said that under Dr Banikanta Kakati Merit Award of Pragyan Bharati scheme, over Rs 144 crore would be spent to provide scooties to girl students to facilitate their journey in the pursuit of knowledge. Sarma, who also holds the Finance and PWD portfolios, said that early marriage and economic burden are major hurdles for the girls’ education.

AHSEC Board 2021:Â The Assam Higher Secondary Educational Council (AHSEC) will conduct the Assam Higher Secondary 2nd year examinations 2021 from the first week of March for all three streams- Science, Arts, and Commerce.
The Assam Higher Secondary Educational Council (AHSEC) is preparing for smooth conduct of the examinations avoid discrepancies during the examinations.Â
