Iran’s trade from Gwadar port ‘to start soon’ CPEC Authority chairman says PM Imran to inaugurate the second phase of Gwadar Free Zone APP July 06, 2021 ISLAMABAD: China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Authority Chairman Lt-Gen (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa said on Monday that Iran’s trade through the Gwadar Port would start very soon, as work in this regard was in progress. In a video message, the CPEC Authority chairman noted that smuggling to and from Iran was on the decline because of the increase in the regulated trade. “The Ramadan-Gabd crossing point near Gwadar is active and fully functional now, fencing work with Pakistan-Iran border is going on rapidly and new border markets are being established at the crossing points,” he said.

Speaking at the launch of development projects and the signing of two Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) with China for different projects in Gwadar during his daylong visit to the port city on Monday, Prime Minister Khan said: “Pakistan is trying to talk to all the neighbouring countries and the Taliban to work out a political settlement with consensus.”
