Quantity, Not Quality: Why Iran Will Never Abandon Its Missile Forces

Quantity, Not Quality: Why Iran Will Never Abandon Its Missile Forces Iran’s conventional weaponry is hopelessly out of date, and the country’s leaders know it, according to one expert. Here s What You Need to Remember: When the United States in early January 2020 assassinated Maj. Gen. Qassem Soleimani, head of the Quds Force, Iran retaliated by firing scores of rockets at two bases in Iraq where U.S. forces reside. Dozens of Americans were injured. Iran’s conventional weaponry is hopelessly out of date, and the country’s leaders know it, according to one expert. But conventional military inferiority hardly fazes Tehran. Iran has found other ways of exerting influence on the world.

Could America Initiate Regime Change In Iran?

The JCPOA is dead at least as the Trump Administration is concerned.  For critics of the JCPOA, this represents a move in the right direction; the goal of U.S. policy should be the end of the Islamic Republic and the overthrow of the existing regime in Tehran. As long as this regime exists, no matter how constrained it is by bilateral and multilateral agreements, it will seek to undermine the stability of the established order in the Middle East through overt and covert military means. This position is held in the United States by figures such as Mark Dubowitz of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies and by policymakers such as Sen. Tom Cotton. The desire for regime change is also shared by some in the Middle East, including significant elements of the Israeli and Saudi national security states.

McCaul, in statements alongside the release of the report, has called for Congress to pass legislation sanctioning scientists at the Wuhan lab and Chinese Communist Party officials who were determined to have obstructed efforts to respond to the pandemic quickly and effectively.

(Photo by Maher Attar/Sygma via Getty Images) (CNSNews.com) – As the U.S. military prepares to make its final withdrawal from Afghanistan over the coming weeks, much attention is being paid to the Taliban’s stampede to take over the country. However, that is not the only brutal insurgency with a foothold in the fragile region. While the Afghan Taliban itself is not a U.S.-designated foreign terrorist organization (FTO) there are plenty of such groups present in the area.

Chris Alexander posted a photo on Twitter purporting to show “Taliban fighters waiting to cross the border from Pakistan to Afghanistan,” and added, “anyone still denying that Pakistan is engaged in an ‘act of aggression’ against Afghanistan is complicit in proxy war & war crimes.”
