Cabinet has agreed to the managed return of a New Zealand
citizen and her two young children from Turkey, Prime
Minister Jacinda Ardern announced today.
The three
have been in immigration detention in Turkey since crossing
the border from Syria earlier this year. Turkey has
requested that New Zealand repatriate the
family.
“The safety and wellbeing of New Zealanders
is paramount for the Government,” Jacinda Ardern
said.
“New Zealand has not taken this step lightly.
We have taken into account our international
responsibilities as well as the details of this particular
case, including the fact that children are

Ravensdown has appointed Dan McLaughlin as Head of
Digital Products, tasked with driving adoption and growth of
digital tools by the company’s
customer-shareholders.
Dan’s strength is
digital strategy and design, with over 10 years of private
sector business experience in the United Kingdom and
Australia, predominantly as a Management Consultant with
Deloitte Digital. Prior to consulting, Dan was a Design
Engineer in the local NZ aerospace industry.
His
keenness for the role was heightened by seeing Ravensdown
transition from a commodity producer to a valued partner

Ngāti Toa Rangatira has placed a two-week rāhui on Te
Awarua o Porirua in an effort to ensure the health and
wellbeing of the entire community.

Rangatira CEO, Helmut Modlik says that the iwi is
dissappointed that two sewerage spill incidents occured in
the Porirua harbour as a result of long term failure to
invest in water infrastructure in the Porirua
region.
“Our local infrastructure is clearly aged,
overburdened and unable to meet current demands, let alone
the future growth in our rohe,” Helmut

A young couple from Auckland have had a weekend to
remember after their lucky Lotto ticket saw them win $17
million with Powerball First Division and become New
