The Government is funding five projects to help address
the growing problem of food waste, Environment Minister
David Parker announced today.
“New Zealand
households throw away nearly 300,000 tonnes of food every
year, half of which could still be eaten. By supporting
these initiatives, we’re taking steps to reduce this
problem,” David Parker said.
The Government will
fund two food waste and three compost projects this year
through the Waste Minimisation Fund.

After active weather gradually clears away today
(Thursday) and tomorrow(Friday), MetService is forecasting
settled conditions until the latter parts of Sunday before
the next frontal system brings potentially severe

Greater Wellington has identified 660 fish passage
barriers in Kāpiti Coast waterways across public and
private land, a project that involved active involvement
from local iwi to ensure our native freshwater fish can
migrate and spawn.
Our region’s waterways are home
to around 20 species of native freshwater fish, and most of
these species need to be able to move freely between the sea
and freshwater in order to complete their lifecycle.
Unfortunately, some man-made barriers in waterways can stop
fish from accessing suitable habitat, resources and
completing their lifecycles.

Sysdig, Inc., leaders in the field of secure DevOps, has
announced the company’s intent to acquire
Apolicy.
This move will “shift security further left
and expand the Sysdig offering to include Infrastructure as
code (IaC) security” according to the
report.
Apolicy complements Sysdig’s existing
capabilities by strengthening cloud and Kubernetes security
with compliance and governance enforcement. This is done via
policy as code, auto-remediation of drift to close the loop
from production to source, and faster issue resolution with
risk-based prioritisation.
The company states that the
pandemic has caused a massive shift towards doing things
