(Courtesy photo | Brian Hayes) Facebook Share BATTLE CREEK, MI Veterans in West Michigan and across the state, as well as their caregivers and spouses, are invited to receive COVID-19 vaccines at more than a dozen clinics planned across the region this month. The push to vaccinate more veterans and their spouses and caregivers is the result of the SAVE LIVES Act signed into law March 24 by President Joe Biden, according to a news release from the Battle Creek VA Medical Center. The legislation removes some of the legal limits on the medical care the VA can provide to veterans, based on health care eligibility.

(WAFF) - Alabama Veterans utilizing VA services are eligible to receive the vaccine, no matter what their age is. Veterans can call their local VA clinic to register for an appointment. Late last year, Veterans at the VA Health Center in Birmingham were part of the Johnson & Johnson clinical trial. When the FDA approved emergency use, the VA was one of the first organizations to receive the single dose vaccine.

OMAHA - The VA Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System has expanded its veterans COVID-19 vaccination efforts to more veterans at its Omaha, Grand Island and Lincoln VA medical facilities, as well as its upcoming outreach efforts throughout the Nebraska and Western Iowa region. Effective immediately, VA NWIHCS clinics are now open to eligible veterans of all ages. The only stipulation is that veterans interested in receiving the COVID-19 vaccination must be eligible to receive VA health care.
