Bringing the Metrolink to Stalybridge would be a ‘downgrade’ and residents ‘don’t want’ to be linked to the tram network, a councillor has claimed.

This dedicated one-off conference will explore the urgent need for the city region to finalise its plans and keep development on track.
Experts will debate the ‘plan of nine’ and its chances of success, as well as the impact of the latest housing target methodology handed down from government, and how the levelling up agenda fits with GM’s recovery plan in the context of GMSF.
What next for the Greater Manchester Spatial Framework is due to take place on Thursday 25 February from 10am to 12.30pm. This event is sponsored by Savills, Cowgills and Cratus.
There will also be discussion of the planning white paper and its recommendations such as zonal planning, reduction of local plans, and digital planning methods.
