To Maj. Voley Martin, the company commander, Skoda, Koch, and Prial represented three generations of his company, but they also represented the best among us, selfless soldiers who performed these dangerous tasks to help others. We lost three of our best on Jan. 20, Martin told those assembled for the private remembrance ceremony. .It cuts deep, but we will persevere.
Martin challenged those gathered to take hold of the good and find the silver lining, even with a seemingly senseless tragedy like this. You can t have the good without the bad, Martin reminded the audience, which included family members, military dignitaries, local elected leaders, and members of the 42nd Combat Aviation Brigade.
