Telangana recorded 163 COVID cases on Saturday, taking the total to 2,97,598. While 23,607 people were examined, results of 692 were awaited. One more patient has died.
The new cases include 29 from Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), 12 from Rangareddy,11 from Medchal-Malkajgiri, and 10 from Karimnagar.
From March 2, 2020, to February 20 this year, 84,56,940 people were tested and 2,97,598 were detected with coronavirus. Of the total cases, 1,731 were active cases, 2,94,243 have recovered, and 1,624 people have died.

HYDERABAD: City mayor Gadwal R. Vijayalakshmi and her deputy Mothe Srilatha Reddy will assume office at 9.30 am on Monday in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) headquarters near Tank Bund.
The duo has invited municipal administration minister K.T. Rama Rao, city ministers and MLAs and former mayor Bonthu Rammohan for the function. The
invitees are yet to confirm their participation, sources said.

Hyderabad, Feb 21 : The primary opposition Congress in Telangana received another jolt on Sunday, as former MLA and party s Medchal Malkajgiri district Unit President, K. Srisailam Goud, on Sunday announced his decision to quit the party and would join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) later during the day.
Goud said he was resigning from party posts and the primary membership of the party.
He stated that he was pained to see the party s position in the state during the last six years. Goud said despite being in the opposition, the Congress failed to take up people s issues.

Hyderabad: After seven years, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has now decided to “redesign” the existing nala and stormwater network, calling the project, the Comprehensive Drainage Network Plan (CDNP). Zonal commissioners of GHMC have already spent between Rs 5 crore to Rs 6 crore for “conducting studies” and to “prepare a survey report”.
