Telangana reports 536 new COVID-19 cases, 3 deaths

Hyderabad: Telangana reported 536 fresh coronavirus cases, taking the tally to over 2.79 lakh while three fatalities pushed the toll to 1,502.
Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) accounted for the most number of cases with 107, followed by Medchal Malkajgiri 43 and Rangareddy 41, a government bulletin said on Tuesday providing details as of 8 pm on December 15.
As many as7,183 patients are under treatment and52,057 samples were tested on Tuesday.
Cumulatively, over 62.57 lakh samples have been tested.
The samples tested per million population was over 1.68 lakh, the bulletin said.
The case fatality rate in the state was 0.53 per cent, while it was 1.5 per cent at the national level.

The number of people in Telangana who died of COVID-19 has crossed 1,500. With the death of three more coronavirus patients on Tuesday, the mortality figure stands at 1,502.
The first death was reported in fourth week of March this year. The number of people who died of the infectious disease was intermittent thereafter.
However, at least one COVID-19 death has been reported daily starting from May 18. The daily fatality had started to increase gradually in June. In July, seven to 14 COVID patients died every day. The situation was more or less similar in August and September. The highest of 14 deaths in a day was reported on June 7, July 30 and August 7.

Hyderabad: Telangana registered 491 fresh coronavirus cases, taking the total caseload to over 2.78 lakh while three fatalities pushed the toll to 1,499.
meanwhile, active coronavirus cases fell below the 5,000 mark to 4,966 in Andhra Pradesh on Sunday even as the state added 506 fresh positives, 613 recoveries and five deaths to its tally.
Transport Minister P Ajay Kumar was among those who tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours in Telangana.
