JP St Mary s donates lockers to Portmore Missionary Prep

JP St Mary’s recently handed over three four-door lockers to the Portmore Missionary Preparatory and Kindergarten School. Valued at approximately $70,000 the newly installed lockers will help to ensure the safe and more secure storage of materials and supplies for the teachers amid the on-going COVID-19 pandemic. Based in Bridgeport, St Catherine, the school has 406 boys and girls enrolled in virtual and face-to-face learning.

NCB makes $1m donation to Sagicor s Sigma Run

Sagicor’s Sigma Run has received $1 million towards its fundraising target, thanks to the National Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited (NCB).  The donation was made in response to the Sagicor Foundation’s promise to match all donations made to the cause in the week of February 15-19, dollar-for-dollar. “Usually, we have one of the largest teams at Sigma every year,” said Nichole Brackett-Walters, Group Marketing and Communications Manager at NCB. “However, the restrictions of the pandemic have forced us to re-imagine the way we show our support for worthy causes such as these while keeping our team members safe and adhering to the government’s COVID-19 restrictions. Donations accepted at Sagicor Bank locations for Sigma Run 2021

Alysia White, Executive Director, Sagicor Foundation, said the donation drop off boxes were put in place to give more persons the opportunity to participate in the foundation’s drive to raise much-needed funds for the beneficiaries of this year’s charity run. Persons wishing to support the fundraising efforts for the beneficiaries of the 2021 Sagicor Sigma Corporate Run can now do so using the donation drop boxes at select Sagicor Bank branches island-wide as well as some offices of Advantage General Insurance Company. The selected Sagicor Bank branches and Advantage General Insurance locations are equipped with a branded Sigma Run donation box to allow persons to donate to the cause and contribute to raising a target of $50 million for the three worthy beneficiaries – the Annotto Bay Hospital, the Portland Hospital and a one-year educational programme for students who have been significantly impacted by the disruption in schools caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
