Sunday: Julie Payne Britton to speak
Franklin County UU Collaborative and All Souls Church will welcome Julie Payne Britton at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. She will bring us: “Spiritual Recovery After a Time of Trial.” There’s a lot of talk about unity these days, and about how you can’t have unity without accountability. It’s clear there is work to do but first we have to replenish our tender, exhausted souls. We will aim to let go of whatever lingers, to celebrate this new day, and to nurture our heart, mind and spirit so that we may be ready for the work to come.

“Look, marketing executives and all those people talk in that language, and the whole thing leaves me cold,” he says. “Here’s the way I approach every show I do, and it’s very kind of old fashioned: I want everyone to listen.”

WASHINGTON (RNS) A decade ago, photographer pals Joel Hoffman and Roy Sewall made a pact to start a project capturing images along 16th Street, the iconic boulevard that stretches from the White House to the Maryland border.
Little did they know back in 2011 that it would turn into a nine-year adventure that documents dozens of houses of worship as well as homes, embassies and other buildings.
