Patna: Dissensions in the Bihar unit of the Congress reached its peak on Tuesday when chairs were thrown on each other, leaders were physically pushed down from the dais, and blows were exchanged at the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) office at the Sadaqat Ashram.
The newly-appointed All India Congress Committee (AICC) in-charge for Bihar, Bhakta Charan Das, a former union minister, was hearing the grievances of the party leaders when a section of the leaders of the Kisan Cell started hurling charges of corruption against the office-bearers of the PCC and accused them of bribery in the distribution of tickets during the assembly elections.

Patna: A clash between the Congress workers at Sadakand Ashram in Patna, Bihar took place on Tuesday in presence of Bhakta Charan Das, who is the newly-appointed Bihar AICC in-charge. The Congress workers hurled chairs at each other, exchanged blows and came down to fisticuffs inside the Congress office in Patna alleging that tickets were sold during Assembly elections by the senior leaders. They say this was the reason why the party performed poorly in the state.

Senior Congress leader and All India Congress Committee member Santosh Singh on Tuesday lodged a complaint with the Jharia Police against an unidentified person, who had given him death threats on Monday at around 8 pm.
Singh in his complaint letter to PK Singh, the inspector cum officer-in charge-of Jharia Police Station, demanded security in the wake of the latest threat to him as well as previous attacks he faced in 2004 and 2009.
Talking to The Telegraph Online on Tuesday noon, Singh said, “I received the threat both on message and a call made from the same mobile number on Monday night and lodged the complaint accordingly.”

After the Supreme Court rapped the Centre over its failure to resolve the deadlock with farmers over the new farm laws, the Congress on Monday asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi apologise to the farmers and repeal the three laws.
Congress communication chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala, addressing a press conference, urged the top court to consider registering cases against Mr. Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Haryana Chief Minister (CM) Manihar Lal Khattar and Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath for destroying public property and digging up national highways to prevent the farmers from reaching Delhi.

New Delhi: The Congress demanded on Monday that the prime minister immediately repeal the contentious farm laws in view of the observations made by the Supreme Court.
A few opposition leaders discussed the future course of action with NCP leader Sharad Pawar and decided to await the apex court order and the farmer unions response to it, even as Congress chief Sonia Gandhi plans to convene a meeting of leaders of like-minded opposition parties.
