DEHRADUN: Amid rising concerns of the Covid 19 outbreak in Mahakumbh and rumours of shortage of police force, the Inspector General of the mela area has written to Rashtriya Swayam Sewak Sangh (RSS) and Congress Sewa Dal requesting assistance in crowd management.
The letter was written to state chiefs of the two groups citing crowd menace and traffic management among other issues and requesting deployment of volunteers. The Mahakumbh is one of the most important religious events of the country. We want to ensure that every available help and resources are ready. MUMBAI: Maharashtra Congress observer HK Patil and other senior leaders of the party met Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Saturday with a list of demands and complaints.
They said the Common Minimum Programme chalked out by constituents of the Maha Vikas Aghadi government should be followed.
They also said Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut should refrain from criticising the Congress central leadership.
Of late, differences between the three have come out in the open and Raut has been critical of Congress and NCP leaders.

MUMBAI: A delegation of Congress leaders on Saturday met Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray and sought a review of the implementation of the Common Minimum Programme (CMP) based on which the Shiv Sena-led Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance was formed in November 2019.
