The Asian Football Federation (AFC) has hailed the All India Football Federation (AIFF) for successfully organising the 20201 AFC Champions League Group E games which took place amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Goa successfully hosted 12 matches at the Fatorda Stadium in Margao from April 14 to April 29, with it playing host to the Group E games, which involved Persepolis (Iran), Al Wahda (UAE) and Al Rayyan (Qatar) and FC Goa - who were making their AFC Champions League debut.

New Delhi, May 5 : Indian footballer Nirmal Chhetri organised a blood donation drive along with a local football club in his hometown of Melli in Sikkim. Social work and giving back to my community as much as possible is something very close to my heart. With the number of cases rising across the country we received a call from the local blood bank about a shortage as the vaccination drive was all set to begin, Chhetri was quoted as saying by the All India Football Federation s (AIFF) website.

New Delhi, May 4 : An Indian side is set to feature in the inaugural AFC Women s Club Championship, a pilot tournament the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) will kick off this year.
With the country set to host two major international events the AFC Women s Asian Cup 2022 and the FIFA U-17 Women s World Cup 2022 - an Indian club competing in the eight-team tournament will give a huge boost to women s football in the country.

New Delhi, May 3 : The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has congratulated the All India Football Federation (AIFF) for the successful organisation of the AFC Champions League (ACL) Group E matches in Goa recently.
A total of 12 matches were held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda, Goa from April 14 to 29 featuring four teams debutants FC Goa (India), Persepolis FC (Iran), Al Wahda (UAE) and Al Rayyan (Qatar).
It was the first time that any AFC Champions League group stage matches were held in India.
