The new AIBE XVI schedule
The All India Bar Exam (AIBE) has been postponed from 21 March 2021 to 25 April 2021, according to a notification on its website (see above).
The ambitious (and unlikely) schedule of holding two bar exams by March 2021, which had been announced in December 2020 after a Covid-induced AIBE-drought, has hereby been derailed.
A tougher AIBE or not really?
For the now-April 2021 exam, only bare acts would be allowed but no other notes.
A recent AIBE taker told us that being allowed to take bare acts in without notes was “not too bad”, since “till now, they ask 75-80 questions right out of various bare acts”.

Launch of new BCIT-KIIT JV (via KIIT announcement)
Indian Institute of Law (IIL) in Odisha’s Bhubaneswar, under an MOU with with the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT).
KIIT, which also operates a private law school, would supply the land in Bhubaneswar and pay for 40% of the costs of infrastructure development of the new campus.
The IIL was launched by BCI functionaries on 29 January and promises to be a “model institute of law teachers’ academy, continues legal education and research”.
Further details about its exact purpose, ambit and the financials are a bit sparse on the ground at the moment.

AIBE XV or AIBE 15 result is expected soon to be released at allindiabarexamination.com. The Bar Council of India conducted All India Bar Exam XV on January 24. Ahead of the results, the answer key will be released soon on the official website. The duration of the exam was three hours and the total number of questions asked was 100 for one mark each.
