JTA As he ends his tenure as the director of the largest Hillel in the country after 20 years in the post, Andrew Getraer says Jews at Rutgers University face a reality out of Dickens: the best of times and the worst of times.
Jewish life at the school, New Jersey’s flagship university, is thriving. There are 6,000 Jews on campus, and it’s known as a destination for students seeking a vibrant Jewish community with a range of services, religious communities and clubs.

There are no interns roaming the halls of President
JOE BIDEN’s White House .at least not yet.
After insisting that Critical Race Theory is not being taught in k-12 schools, Randi Weingarten – teacher union boss and gaslighter extraordinaire – has ceded any right to be taken seriously.
Randi Weingarten, the gaffe-prone president of the American Federation of Teachers has outdone herself, and that isn’t easy. In a series of seven open letters over the years, I have playfully chided the union boss about her trove of inane and bizarre musings. But now she has jumped the proverbial shark.
Immediately following the National Education Association’s annual meeting, the American Federation of Teachers held an online conference, which began July 6th. As the keynote speaker, Weingarten kicked things off, and most of her 74-minute talk was typical rah-rah teacher union blather, including praise for Joe and Kamala, and the obligatory swipe at The Donald. But late in her talk, the bushwa really kicked in.
Death Threats and Fights Over Critical Race Theory Have Driven at Least Six Educators to Resign
On 7/14/21 at 12:26 AM EDT
At least six educators across the country have resigned due to death threats and school board battles regarding Critical Race Theory (CRT). CRT is a field of study that analyzes race and racism as social dynamics throughout history.
Rydell Harrison, a Black school superintendent in Redding, Connecticut, resigned in June after only serving in the position since August 2020.
When he began the job, the regional school board had established a task force to address the racial climate in schools. The force was created after local students and alumni wrote to the board about their experiences with racism.
