NEW YORK, Feb. 2, 2021 /PRNewswire/ More than 10,000 students a year will be given free access to career readiness support through a new partnership between HR tech company, Cappfinity, and The National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS).
The initiative will give NSCS premium members unlimited access to Cappfinity s Virtual Experience and Engagement platform (VEE). A market first, VEE provides learners with a self-paced learning journey including customized, unbiased work simulations, strengths feedback and interactive training exercises to build the vital skills in demand by top employers.

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer joined today with Republican and Democratic legislators to announce the launch of the $30 million Michigan Reconnect program, the largest effort in state history to ensure that more than 4.1 million Michiganders who are 25 or older and do not have a college degree will have an opportunity to earn a tuition-free associate degree or skills certificate.
“All Michiganders deserve a pathway to a good-paying job, whether they choose to pursue a college degree, technical certificate, or an apprenticeship,”

Citrus College Superintendent/President Geraldine M. Perri, Ph.D., will retire on July 1, 2021.
Although she first shared the news with the college community in December 2020, Superintendent/President Perri s retirement plans were made official during the Jan. 19, 2021, meeting of the Citrus Community College District Board of Trustees. JACKSON, MI - Jackson College is participating with Wayne State University in a new effort to improve transfer success.
The two-year Equity Transfer Initiative, led by the American Association of Community Colleges, awards up to $27,500 to partnerships to increase transfer and completion for underrepresented student populations, including Blacks, Hispanics, adult and first-generation learners.
The goal of the initiative is to help remove barriers and enhance completion of degrees that lead to family-sustaining wages, college officials said.
The institutions are slated to get a much bigger slice of the $20.5 billion earmarked for public and nonprofit colleges nationwide in the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act.
