After Cheney was stripped of her post as chair of the House Republican Conference, Kinzinger praised her outspoken opposition to
Donald Trump’s claim that last fall’s election was stolen from him.
Richard Grenell, the former acting director of National Intelligence under President Trump, said in an interview with CPAC that he believes Susan Rice has assumed the role of a “shadow president.”

The House Republican Conference is set to hold a candidate forum on Thursday to discuss who should be their next conference chair after ousting Rep. Liz Cheney from the post Wednesday, and Rep. Elise Stefanik says she absolutely has the votes to secure the spot in GOP leadership.
Stefanik, R-NY., is the only declared candidate for the post so far, though Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, is considering launching his own bid, The Daily Caller reported. A bid from Roy or any other member would be an extreme longshot, as Stefanik has support from House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., Minority Whip Steve Scalise, R-La., and many other top conference members.

Texas Rep. Chip Roy is launching a last-minute bid for House GOP conference chair, going up against Rep. Elise Stefanik.
Stefanik, N.Y., has the endorsement of former President Trump, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, Calif., and Rep. Steve Scalise, La., House Republican Whip.
Stefanik and Roy are expected to address their caucus during a candidate forum Thursday evening. A closed-door vote is set for Friday morning.
On his way into the forum, Roy said they need to not rush this process for the sake of doing it, and that they need, enough time for people to, you know, decide if they want to run and get into the mix and so forth - but if we’re gonna have the vote tomorrow, then I’m running.
