During April, Give Up the Drink and Walk Away From Cigarettes
During the month of April, the nation focuses on Alcohol Awareness Month. Those who struggle with alcohol know how hard it can be do get and keep it under control. Offen times, those with alcohol problems also struggle with tobacco use issues. For many, these two go hand in hand.
The New York State Smokers Quitline is an excellent tool that is available for those who wish to ditch the drink and quit the cigarette. The number is
1-888-697-8487.
With proper support an individual may be able to overcome issues with both alcohol and tobacco. Surveys have shown that many people have found curbing alcohol use makes giving up tobacco markedly easier. The New York State Quitline will provide you with tips on how to ease your struggle. The line will remind you of the benefits of taking deep breaths periodically, or going out for a walk during stressful times, or even just connecting with friends for one-on-one

Free Victoria Live Music Concert Downtown Rhythms
Get our free mobile app
One of my favorite events yearly is back with a twist. It s still a free family live music concert, but this year, Victoria Symphony s famous
Downtown Rhythms concert scheduled for
April 22nd from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm in downtown
Victoria, will not include a full orchestra.
No worries though, live music fun is still the priority and all of the Crossroads is invited.
Instead, due to social distancing requirements, they are going to feature outstanding guest ensembles like the East High School Percussion Ensemble, the West High School Jazz Band as well as the VSO Brass Quintet. Other activities will include more family fun like a Children s Discovery Museum Booth, along with local food trucks and more.
