Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On April 6, Minister of Health S.Enkhbold and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba Raul Delgado Concepcion signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Health of Mongolia and the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba.
Under the MoU, the sides will cooperate in efforts to support health, communicable and non-communicable disease control and prevention, medical, pharmaceutical and biotechnological research, and primary health care.
During the signing ceremony, Minister S.Enkhbold said the development and achievements of health care and medical sciences in Cuba are well known to the people of Mongolia and that health professionals who studied in dentistry in Cuba have been leading in their field. The Minister also outlined the actions the government of Mongolia is taking against the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF, Russia’s sovereign wealth fund) announces the registration of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine against coronavirus by the Ministry of Health of Mongolia.
Asia Mongol Emimpex Concern
The vaccine was approved under the emergency use authorization procedure without additional clinical trials in the country.
The EUA was obtained with the assistance from RDIF s local partner Mongol Emimpex Concern LLC, the country s leading pharmaceutical company.
Mongolia has become the 23rd country in the world to approve Sputnik V. The vaccine had been approved earlier in Russia, Belarus, Argentina, Bolivia, Serbia, Algeria, Palestine, Venezuela, Paraguay, Turkmenistan, Hungary, UAE, Iran, Republic of Guinea, Tunisia, Armenia, Mexico, Nicaragua, Republika Srpska (entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina), Lebanon, Myanmar and Pakistan. ■
