A national Technical Task Team meeting was held in Accra, Ghana on 1 March 2021 to review the first draft of the Science, Technology and Innovation for Sustainable Development Goals Roadmap (STI for SDGs Roadmap) in Ghana. Members of the technical task, consisting of key stakeholders from relevant ministries, academia and research institutes expressed their views and contributed to the 1st draft of the roadmap focusing on prioritized SDGs (1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, and 9), providing STI solutions in Agriculture, Health, Education, Sanitation, Industry and Innovation for Job creation.
The roadmap was elaborated by a team led by the Science and Technology Policy Research Institute of the Centre for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR-STEPRI), with the support of UNESCO and as part of the UN Global Pilot Programme on STI for SDGs roadmaps, which was launched in 2019 focusing on five pilot countries including Ghana.

Constitutionalism demands a democratic process with laydown principles. Amongst which is the elected president to constitute his government. One subject that continues to take center stage in the size of government with an emphasis on the size of ministerial portfolios to be created.
It does appear, Ghana s 1992 constitutions have created a big void in terms of the number of ministerial positions to be created. This might have contributed to the elected president having the exclusive power and rights to determine the number of ministerial portfolios, number of ministers and deputies to have.
Mr Kenwuud Nuworsu, Former Volta Regional Chairman, New Patriotic Party has said appointments to public office is not an entitlement, but an opportunity to serve.
He said party people should be aware that President Akufo-Addo could not engage everybody to serve in public office and only those who were tasked to play a certain role could be relied on.
Mr Nuworwsu, a former Minister and Elder of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), speaking to the Ghana News Agency in an interview said down-sizing the Ministries from 126 to 85 meant only some key human resources would be required to perform government agenda in the next four years.
