Formulation of education policy ordered through consultation Islamabad December 21, 2020 Islamabad : As Pakistan does not have an updated comprehensive educational policy to represent the country so under the vision of Prime Minister of Pakistan, Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood has ordered the formulation of the National Education Policy 2021 through a widespread consultative process. Pakistan Education Policy 2021 will ensure a national cohesion and harmony across religious and ethnic divides as well as capturing the divergence that is absolutely essential for the context of Pakistan, the minister said in a post on Twitter. He said the policy would also nationally converge on key education aspects for standards, educational stages (primary, middle, high etc.) system of exams and admissions, teacher management standards etc.

COVID-19 upsurge: PEIRA allows Private Schools to call each class once a week By Hamid Khan Wazir ISLAMABAD: Amid the alarming upsurge in the Coronavirus Cases across the Country, the Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority (PEIRA) has given a great relaxation to the Private Educational Institutions (PEls) to call each class once a week to submit and collect homework. All private educational Institutions are switched to online learning and home based learning up to December 24, 2020; however in case the PEls do not have the facility of alternate mode i.e. online/Home based learning, they may call each class once a week to submit and collect homework.

President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi, the Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mahmood, the Chairman Higher Education Commission (HEC) Tariq Banuri, Britain’s Deputy High Commissioner Mike Nithavrianakis, and other senior diplomats from British Council UK and Pakistan addressed the Conference. While addressing the conference, Shafqat Mahmood acknowledged the efforts of the HEC and the British Council in executing this promising Rs 1.9 billion Joint Project, which in the current setting of the pandemic is of immense importance.
