Ministry of Community Development organises 20 awareness seminars to enhance drug addiction control DUBAI, 15th April, 2021 (WAM) To raise awareness among families about drug prevention, the Ministry of Community Development (MoCD) is organising workshops and seminars targeting all the members of the community as part of a programme launched by the ministry two years ago to strengthen the role of the family in protecting children, in cooperation with the National Drug Prevention Programme Siraj of the Anti-Drug Council and the Ministry of Interior. Eman Hareb Al Falahi, Director of Social Protection Department at the MoCD, revealed that during 2021, 20 targeted workshops are part of the ministry s plan of which eight workshops have been implemented in the first quarter of this year with 312 participants. Humanity & Inclusion (HI) - Jordan: Urgent gaps in protection and health services for persons with disabilities Format Summary Humanity & Inclusion (HI) has been implementing since April 2018 a major protection and health program for persons with disabilities in Amman governorate, funded by the UK’s Foreign, Development, and Commonwealth Office (FCDO) within their protection business case for Jordan. The two related FCDO grants are ending on March 31st, 2021. This situation is bringing to a sudden halt a wide portfolio of services for refugees and Jordanians with disabilities. In the current economic situation, the Ministry of Health (MoH) and the Ministry of Social Development (MoSD) will be unable to assume responsibility for these services at short notice. Up to a hundred trained staff and volunteers, under HI management and in partner structures, will likely stop working with a major loss in specialised human resources for the protection and health sectors.

COVID-19: Senior citizens vaccination campaign continues its success all over the UAE

Dubai: The Ministry of Community Development (MoCD), in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP), continued to carry out the vaccination campaign for senior citizens, which was launched last month against COVID-19 all over the UAE. Till today, the campaign included Ajman, Dubai, Al Fujairah, Umm Al Quwain and Ras Al Khaimah. The vaccination campaign of senior citizens in Ras Al Khaimah was done by a team from the two ministries at the homes of male and female senior citizens in several areas such as: Dahan, Julphar, Al Rams and Shaam areas in Ras Al Khaimah. The senior citizens vaccination campaign was launched on January 10 and achieved strong response. As part of its ongoing efforts, the campaign continues to deliver the vaccine to the largest numbers of senior citizens across the UAE to ensure their prevention against the coronavirus and receive two doses as per a timed schedule all over the UAE.
