May 20, 2021 Lyna Mohamad Two Bruneian students in Cairo, Arab Republic of Egypt, have made a recovery from COVID-19, said the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) in a statement yesterday. “Based on information from the Education and Culture Attaché, Embassy of Brunei Darussalam in the Arab Republic of Egypt, on May 18, it is confirmed that two out of four students who tested positive for COVID-19 have recovered,” said the MoRA statement. “Meanwhile, one more student has tested positive for COVID-19, which brings the total of active cases to three. Alhamdulillah, all of the 28 students in Cairo have undergone swab tests.” The statement also said that the three students are not exhibiting any symptoms, while the other students are in good condition.

This was based on information from the Education and Cultural Attache’ of the Embassy of Brunei Darussalam in Egypt. This was announced by Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman yesterday. The minister said all Bruneian students in Cairo underwent swab tests in phases and ordered to self-isolate at their residence. Fifteen students have taken swab tests.
