Eldon Tate, chief executive of Inhibit Coatings, says independent testing in the United States found the company’s silver nanoparticle coatings reduced Covid-19 by 99.9 per cent.
Eldon Tate is pretty sure his company s silver nanoparticle technology is a safe and effective way to deal with the Covid-19 virus and its contamination of surfaces. In October this year as part of the Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment’s Covid-19 Innovation Accelerator programme he was able to prove that the silver nanoparticle water-based polyurethane coating his company had made could reduce Covid-19 by 99.9 per cent. The coating was sent to the United States for independent testing and was found to reduce the human coronavirus by that amount.

WorkSafe is facing an independent review of its oversight of White island Tours in the years leading up to the eruption which resulted in 22 deaths. Americans Matt and Lauren Urey were among the 25 survivors.
WorkSafe hurriedly ramped up monitoring of adventure activities following last year’s Whakaari White Island disaster, but safety experts say there is still room for improvement. The 22 Whakaari fatalities and severe injuries to survivors sparked a review of the agency’s handling of adventure activities involving natural hazards, and a further independent review will now look at its oversight of tours to the active volcano.
“There were also concerns about potential cross-contamination,” he said. Council said safeguards were in place to ensure the facilities were well managed, with no risk to aerodrome uses. “There was also a decision that no isolation buses are to visit during specified dates when large events are held,” Te Wiata said. But, with no sign of an ease in border restrictions, officials haven’t been sitting down on the job with a separate portable toilet installed at the site. The separate facilities, including a trailer mounted toilet block, was put in place on December 14 and is located inside the front entranceway of the aerodrome on the left-hand side. It is a temporary facility for managed isolation bus passengers only.
