Uttarakhand: Train mows down 4 people during trial run in Haridwar
Four persons were mown down by a high-speed train during its trial run between Haridwar and Laksar on Thursday.
The mishap occurred near Jamalpurkala village when the train was running at a speed of 100-120 kmph during the trial run.
Haridwar SSP Senthil Avudai Krishna Raj said identification of the deceased is underway.
Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat expressed grief over the incident and ordered a magisterial probe into it.
The high-speed train brought from Delhi was being run on the tracks broadened recently.Â

Haridwar (Uttarakhand) [India], January 8 (ANI): Four people died after being run over by a train during the trial of the Railway s double track in Haridwar on Thursday.
Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat directed the District Magistrate to conduct a magisterial probe and arrange for proper treatment of the injured.
He also expressed condolences to the relatives of the deceased in the accident.
Taking to Twitter, Chief Minister said, I got news that some people died after being run over by a train during the trial of Railway s double track in Haridwar. I express my deepest condolences to the relatives of the deceased in this accident and wish the injured to get well soon.

A landslide obstructed “Chardham Yatra” in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district in which around 2,000 people were stranded. Now, reports say that 800 have resumed their onward journey and work is on to clear the debris.
The Rishikesh-Badrinath National Highway was closed near Vishnuprayag, one of the five confluences of Alaknanda river, between Joshimath (also known as Jyotirmath) and Badrinath, the famous pilgrim spot in the hill state.
