FMs of Pakistan, Chile discuss bilateral relations
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi held telephonic conversation with his Chilean counterpart Andrés Allamand today (Tuesday) regarding missing Chilean mountaineer Juan Pablo Mohr who was on the K-2 winter expedition.
The Foreign Minister expressed his deep concern over the missing team of mountaineers and apprised Chilean Foreign Minister of efforts being made by Pakistan to locate them, including a number of search flights by Pakistan Army Aviation helicopters amid challenging weather conditions over a treacherous terrain.
During the call, the two Foreign Ministers also discussed bilateral relations and agreed to remain engaged in future both on bilateral and multilateral fora.

Prime Minister Imran Khan was on Thursday informed that with 82,728 Roshan Digital Accounts opened so far in 97 countries of different continents by the overseas Pakistanis, an amount of $436 million had been remitted and paid under the facility.
He was further informed that as 600 to 700 accounts were being opened on a daily basis, Pakistani expatriates were remitting around $6 to $7 million per day.
The prime minister was presiding over a meeting to review progress on the provision of facilities made available for the overseas Pakistanis under the Roshan Digital Account.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has announced a token contribution of 25,000 dollars to the Secretary General’s Peace-building Fund.
Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi, while speaking in a virtual High Level Replenishment Conference for UN Secretary General’s Peace-building Fund, said that the pledge underscores Pakistan’s longstanding political, human and financial commitment to UN’s endeavors in peacekeeping and peace-building.
He also reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to multilateral cooperation for preserving peace, preventing conflict and realizing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
ISLAMABAD, Jan. 21 (Gwadar Pro) - The 17th Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) Ministerial Meeting was held in a virtual format on 21 January 2021. Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi represented Pakistan in the meeting.
In his address, the Foreign Minister stated that ACD is a leading platform that has transformed into a robust institutional mechanism for dialogue and discussions among the member states on issues of mutual interest.
Highlighting the devastating repercussions of the Covid-19 pandemic on sustainable development and developing countries, Pakistan stressed the need to coordinate actions, benefit from each other’s experiences, and pool resources for responding to the pandemic and financing the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
