CHILDREN at a Barrow school have been expressing their creative side with a February challenge. Pupils from every year group at Greengate Junior School have been unleashing their inner photographer while taking themed photographs tasked to them by Feature Cumbria. Year Five teacher Jo Gay said: “As we went into the second ‘closing’ of schools and we were unable to see the children on a daily basis we got thinking about ways we could encourage children to be creative and show their individuality whilst working and learning from home. “During the first lockdown myself and my son had taken part in a monthly photography challenge created by Mary Ballard of Feature Cumbria. Every day was given a designated theme to link to a celebration that would take part for example February 14 is Valentine’s Day, so the theme love fits perfectly.
