Minister Černač addressed the participants of the 6th Annual Forum of the EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR)

11. 5. 2021 Minister for Development and the EU Cohesion Policy Zvone Černač addressed the participants of the 6th Annual Forum of the EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR) under the slogan “Along the coasts of the shared sea” via an audio-video link. The Forum is the closing event of the Slovenian Presidency of the EUSAIR Strategy which Slovenia took over in June 2020 and will close at the end of May 2021. Minister Zvone Černač, Minister of Foreign Affairs dr. Anže Logar and EU Commissioner for Cohesion and Reform Elisa Ferreira opened the 6th EUSAIR Forum. The Forum hosted by Izola took place on 11 and 12 May 2021. The Forum is a major event in the frame of the EUSAIR Strategy organised by the Slovenian Presidency (Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Government Office for Development and Cohesion Policy), the EUSAIR Facility Point and the European Commission. 11. 5. 2021 Today, Minister Anže Logar opened the 6th Annual Forum of the EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR), which represents the final act of the one-year Slovenian Presidency of EUSAIR and the Adriatic-Ionian Initiative. In his address, Minister Logar explained that despite the challenges thrown up by the COVID-19 pandemic, Slovenia has managed to achieve all its goals and introduce some innovations. “Only by being connected and responsible for the environment can we contribute to the green and smart development and recovery of the Union,” stressed Minister Logar. This year s symposium marked the 50th anniversary of regional policy in Slovenia. Minister Černač underlined that the anniversary was an important milestone offering an opportunity to reflect on past lessons and achievements in the area of regional development. Anton Melik Geographical Institute of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts, Ministry of Economic Development and Technology, the Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy, Slovenian Regional Development Fund and Association of Regional Development Agencies of Slovenia teamed up to host this year’s Slovenian Regional Days as an entirely virtual event due to the Covid-19 pandemic. EU Commission receives Slovenia s recovery and resilience plan

May, 2021 Brussels/Ljubljana – The European Commission confirmed on Saturday it has officially received Slovenia’s recovery and resilience plan, which specifies reforms and public investments projects the country intends to implement with support of the EU recovery and resilience mechanism. The Slovenian plan is structured around four priority pillars: green transition; digital transformation; smart, sustainable and inclusive growth; health and welfare including investments and reforms in long-term care and social housing. The projects included in the plan will be implemented by 2026, when the mechanism expires. In the document, Slovenia proposes projects in all seven European priority areas, the European Commission Representation in Slovenia said in a press release.
