A playpark that was condemned by safety inspectors last year could soon reopen with a special event. The play facility in Y Fan near Llanidloes has been shut while volunteers in the area have been campaigning to raise £25,000 to cover the cost of repairs. A spokesperson for The Van Institute said: “The Van Institute Committee and the Playpark Committee are hoping that the park will be open again with everything meeting The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents standards around the time the entries have to be in for ‘The Centenary Creative Competition’ in early June. “It has been a joint effort by the two groups and they wish to thank all those who have helped to raise the money to cover the cost of the repairs which, along with The Van Institute Committee’s contribution, enabled the work to go ahead for the children to enjoy the facilities again.
