Gujarat Municipal Corporation Election Results 2021: The Gujarat Municipal Election Results will be declared today after counting of votes in six municipal corporations wrap up. Counting at Ahmedabad, Surat, Rajkot, Vadodara, Bhavnagar, and Jamnagar began at 9 am. As many as 576 seats in 144 wards went for the polls on February 21. As per early trends, BJP has taken the lead in all the six municipal corporations, while Congress trails.
As the counting for the local body elections in six Municipal Corporations in Gujarat progresses on Tuesday, the trending figures show that the BJP is leading in majority of the seats, but it is the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) which is giving surprising results in Surat.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leading in 236 seats in the elections for six municipal corporations in Gujarat, while Congress has maintained a lead in 49 seats.
Arvind Kejriwal s Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) which is contesting the elections for the first time is leading 17 seats.

New Delhi, Feb 23 : The BJP on Tuesday termed the party s landslide victory in the Gujarat municipal polls as a victory of Prime Minister Narendra Modi s politics of development and performance over politics of lies peddled by the Congress on Covid management, new farm laws and the economy.
Bharatiya Janata Party national general secretary and Gujarat in-charge Bhupendra Yadav said that the victory shows that people don t trust Congress lies. The landslide victory for BJP in Gujarat local body polls proves people do not trust Congress s lies on Covid, economy and farm laws. People s faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modiji s leadership is unwavering. I commend BJP s Gujarat unit for this feat, Yadav tweeted.
