J.J. Watt agrees to 2-year contract with Arizona Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals Football Club today announced that the team has agreed to terms with defensive lineman
J.J. Watt on a two-year contract. In accordance with club policy, terms were not disclosed.
The 31-year old
Watt (6-5, 288) is a three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year (2012, ’14-15), five-time Pro Bowl selection (2012-15, ’18) and five-time first-team All-Pro designee (2012-15, ’18).
Watt started all 128 games he appeared in the past 10 years after entering the league as Houston’s first-round selection (11
th overall) in the 2011 NFL Draft out of Wisconsin. In 2017, the Pewaukee, WI native was selected as both the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year and the Sports Illustrated Person of the Year.
The Arizona Cardinals continue to bring players in to their 2021 offseason roster, today the team brought in another offensive lineman.

The Arizona Cardinals continue to add talent to their offseason roster as the team announced the signing of two players to future contracts.

Jamal Carter and
Donald Rutledge to future contracts for the 2021 season.
Carter (6-1, 215) has appeared in 28 games with the Broncos and Falcons since signing with Denver as a rookie free agent out of Miami (FL) in 2017. The 26-year old Carter played all 16 games as a rookie with the Broncos in 2017 under current Cardinals defensive coordinator Vance Joseph. He then appeared in 12 games over two seasons (2019-20) with Atlanta after spending the 2018 season on injured reserve. A native of Miami, FL, Carter has 22 tackles (15 solo), two passes defensed and five special teams tackles in his NFL career playing safety. He played in one game and totaled five tackles with the Falcons in 2020.

With the exception of Bunting, each player was on the Cardinals practice squad this season.
Bunting (6-7, 255) originally entered the NFL with Chicago as an undrafted rookie free agent from the University of California in 2019. As a rookie, he spent time on the Jets and Colts practice squads prior to spending training camp this year with Indianapolis. The 24-year old Bunting appeared in 47 games (12 starts) during his collegiate career at Michigan (2014-17) and California (2018).
