The talented printmaker has created five sets of handmade Valentine’s Day cards, which can be bought at (or shipped from) The Bennington Museum. The cards feature puns and funny pick-up lines that are assured to get a laugh. Ratray has been making cards for over 10 years. She said she makes them for her friends and family, who get a good laugh out of the cheesy pick-up lines. “It was a lot of fun just coming up with a way to play the words on the theme,” said Ratray.

Museum of Fine Arts in Boston reopens with Paul Cezanne exhibit

BOSTON Visitors to a new exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts are encouraged to “look carefully” at the singular paintings of Paul Cezanne to fathom the stylistic intricacies of the trailblazing artist whose work bridged the 19th and 20th centuries. As part of its 150th anniversary celebration, the museum is displaying 12 paintings by Cezanne (1839–1906) in “visual dialogues” with other contemporary French masters. The “Cezanne: In and Out of Time” exhibit is an exciting and instructive look at what made him special. The MFA, closed since Dec. 16 because of the coronavirus, along with the city s other museums, just reopened this week.

Texas Art Curator Clint Willour Dies: 1941 - 2021

Clint Willour Clint Willour, a giant of the Texas art scene, died of cancer on Thursday, February 4, 2021. He was 79. Throughout his nearly 50-year career, the impact Mr. Willour had on the transformation of Houston into a destination for art cannot be overstated. He arrived in the city in 1970, when its contemporary art scene was fledgling, and his ethos and generosity continued to influence on the city’s museums, nonprofits, and galleries until his death. Mr. Willour is perhaps best known across Texas for his 25-year stint as curator at the Galveston Arts Center (GAC) a nonprofit, non-collecting art space located in the port city. During his tenure as curator, from 1990 to 2016, he oversaw multiple exhibition spaces in the building and organized the Galveston Art Walk into a successful, regular event. At GAC, Mr. Willour gave many Texas artists their first institutional exhibition opportunities; he would include young artists alongside Texas stalwarts in group shows, and would
