The application period for Canada Summer Jobs has been extended and Timmins-James Bay MP Charlie Angus is encouraging groups to apply.
Angus says the program is an excellent opportunity for area organizations and for students. Timmins-James Bay has always scored very high in terms of funding from this program.

The Province wide lock down due to Covid-19 has certainly tested everyone’s patience and resolve during these trying times. It is important, especially during times like these, to find positive distractions and outlets to focus on. Maybe you have taken up a new hobby such as woodworking or knitting, or maybe you have reorganized your closet or finished a book you have set aside for years. Sometimes all you need is one bright spot in your day to shed a different light.

In response to the announcement by Premier Ford regarding a Province-wide Shutdown, the Town of Kirkland Lake is planning for a reduction of services as of 12:01 am on December 26th,
2020, to Saturday, January 9, 2021.

The Province-wide Shutdown will put into place time-limited public health and workplace safety measures to stop the trend of COVID-19 transmissions, preserve health system capacity, safeguard vulnerable populations and those who care for them, and save lives.
In response to shutdown, the following will be closed: Kirkland Lake Community Complex, Civic Rink, the Museum of Northern History, Heritage North, and all municipal offices.
