Holy Cross man is dead after killing another man, and a standoff that lasted a day, Troopers say

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - Alaska State Troopers say two Holy Cross men are dead after one of them killed the other, and then was fatally shot by a trooper after a standoff with authorities that lasted almost a day. Troopers responded to the village of Holy Cross around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday for a reported shooting of a person in a boat, they wrote in an online dispatch report. That man was identified as 71-year-old Holy Cross resident Alden Gerald Walker Sr. His death is being investigated as a homicide.

Dillingham Man Indicted for Attempted Murder After Officer Involved Shooting Incident

April 7, 2021 (Anchorage, AK) – Yesterday, an Anchorage grand jury indicted 32-year-old Daniel Wahl on one count of Attempted Murder in the First Degree, one count of Misconduct Involving Weapons in the First Degree, and five counts of Assault in the Third Degree.  The indictment is based on an incident that occurred on February 18, 2021 where Wahl is alleged to have fired at several responding law enforcement officers. If convicted at trial, Mr. Wahl faces sentences of up to 99 years imprisonment for the attempted murder charge, up to 20 years for the Misconduct Involving Weapons charge, and up to five years for the Assault charges.

Hostage situation in Wasilla

Wasilla, Alaska (KINY) - On Saturday at approximately 8:44 pm MATCOM Dispatch received a call about a suspect vehicle that fled the scene of a hit and run incident near the intersection of Church and the Parks Highway, in Wasilla, and was last seen traveling northbound on Church Road. Wasilla Police located the suspect vehicle disabled and unoccupied near Glenkerry Drive at approximately 8:49 pm.   At approximately 9:05 pm, MATCOM dispatch received a call from a residence, that was a short distance from where the suspect vehicle was found by Wasilla Police, reporting that a male was on the front porch with a shotgun demanding keys to their vehicle.
