Alaska Airlines touch free travel
Alaska Airlines announces new touch-free boarding options, such as printing bag tickets without touching kiosks, and boarding passes available via text messages.
SEATTLE - Alaska Airlines may soon be banning more than a dozen passengers whose behavior was deemed unacceptable on a recent flight from Washington, D.C., to Seattle.
An airline spokesperson confirmed that the offending passengers, of which there were at least 14, had refused to wear masks (as per Alaska’s current coronavirus policy) and also harassed crew members during the flight, which took off from Dulles International Airport for Seattle-Tacoma International Airport on Thursday,.
There were some good moments during this tumultuous year, which forced us to look at the wonders around us closer to home. Here s a look back at some of my favorite travel stories reported by The Arizona Republic in 2020.
Arizona s natural wonder takes center stage
Arizonans desperate to find a safe place to escape their own four walls flocked outside. They hit the trails around the state and kayaked some of its grand waterways. They camped outside and took advantage of its dark skies for stargazing.
I enjoyed the Grand Canyon in all its glory, trekking the forbidden hike down to the river and back in just one day. But that was nothing compared to Meghan Slavin, who became the first woman to run from the bottom of the Grand Canyon to the top of Humphreys Peak.

Authorities in Las Vegas arrested a man who hopped the fence at McCarran International Airport and climbed onto the wing of an airplane. Alaska Airlines Flight 1367 from Las Vegas to Portland was preparing for takeoff when the pilots noticed the man, later identified as 41-year-old
Alejandro Carlson, running toward the aircraft.
The pilots contacted air traffic controllers and had to abort the takeoff as he managed to climb onto the wing. Shocked passengers watched from the windows as police tried to get Carlson off the wing. He refused to get down and took off his shoes and socks. At one point attempted to climb the winglet at the edge of the wing.

The guy in the video really hit hard. He had to be on something for sure.
Don’t worry, they won’t! The viewing area has been closed since late March!!
And they don’t do “ knee-jerk” reactions either. It’s an FAA-certified airport with DHS/TSA rules and regulations. This is a rare event. No airport is foolproof. And there are a lot of crazies high on substance abuse out there.
