School closures: ● Anne Arundel County Public Schools classes are canceled Thursday. ● Arlington Public Schools classes are now canceled Thursday. The system had previously planned to hold virtual classes. ● Charles County Public Schools classes are canceled Thursday. ● Culpeper County Public School classes are canceled Thursday. ● Fairfax County Public Schools classes are canceled Thursday. ● Fauquier County Public Schools classes are canceled Thursday. ● Frederick County (Md.) Public Schools classes are canceled Thursday.

ALEXANDRIA, VA Due to the winter weather, Alexandria City Public School buildings are closed on Friday.
Alexandria City Public Schools closed all buildings while virtual learning continues on Friday. All programs and services at ACPS school buildings and facilities are canceled, including child care programs offered by ACPS partners, and the Tech Help Desk. Food distribution at school sites will open on Friday, Feb. 19 on a delayed schedule at 10 a.m.
Essential ACPS employees may be asked to report for work on an as-needed basis. Contractors should report for work unless notified otherwise by the project manager.

New US cases of Covid-19 this past week were down 23.9% from the prior week, and down 53.3% from the early January peak. Although the 7-day average of news cases is now the lowest since November 9th, it s also higher that every 7-day period before that date.
