Railways Prepare 70,000 Beds In 4,400 Corona Care Coaches

PM-Cares allocates funds to install oxygen plants in India In response to the urgent demand in different states, the Indian Railways have made available a fleet of more than 4,400 isolation coaches with around 70,000 beds to serve as isolation units. These isolation coaches can be easily moved and positioned at places of demand on the Indian Railways network. Quick memorandum of agreement on shared responsibilities and rapid action plans are being worked out by Railways with the respective district authorities. According to the Railway officials, the department is taking rapid action to swiftly move isolation coaches to places of demand made by respective states by mobilizing workforce and material.

(Photo | PTI) By PTI AHMEDABAD: Residents of Ahmedabad who visit other states for work are now required to produce a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test certificate to return to the city, civic authorities said on Wednesday. Following a direction from the Gujarat High Court, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has scrapped its April 5 order which said Ahmedabad residents who visit other states for work will not be required to undergo RT-PCR tests upon their return to the city.

Train coaches in Ahmedabad converted to isolation wards for COVID-19 patients ANI | Updated: May 06, 2021 03:10 IST Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], May 6 (ANI): As COVID cases continue to rise and put an increasing amount of pressure on healthcare infrastructures, the Indian Railways and Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) have converted its 19 coaches into isolation wards, an official said on Wednesday. The wards have been set up at Sabarmati and Chandlodiya railway stations. They are equipped with oxygen cylinders. A total of 70,000 isolation beds have been made available by the Railways in more than 4,400 Covid Care Coaches, as per the Ministry of Railways on Wednesday.
